What color would you say my hair is?

It’s lighter in the sun and darker when there’s no much light. I think it’s not blonde but definitely not brown

This is so interesting! Scandinavian blonde (natural) is exactly my reference point, and used to be everyone else’s. Natural blonde, as a pp said, occurs when there’s an absence of pigment.

Possibly some of the shades people are describing are vanity shades for people with mid colour hair because it used to be desirable to be blonde.

I do agree the OP’s (beautiful) hair looks golden, but I’d say golden brown, not golden blonde.

No one really retains that shade of blonde though, even Nordics. My dad and sister were both white blonde and slowly became darker as they aged. Even a friend of mine from school, who had pure white hair well into her 20’s, has gone mousier as she’s got older.

I’d say light brown. Beautiful hair 🥰

Not year round I’d agree.
My blonde friends go a bit ashy in the winter but right back to blonde in the sunshine. What none of them have is brown or red tones.

just asked my hairdresser today, she is sure my hair is dark blonde with lighter strands. No brown pigment

Dark blonde

KatharinaRosalie · 29/05/2025 15:56

Medium brown. But I'm from Northern Europe, so different frame of reference. I have a Balkan friend who keeps insisting she's blonde as her hair is only dark brown and not black, so therefore must be blonde.

I’m finding this thread hugely disconcerting in terms of thinking about witness statements … 😬

NotSmallButFunSize · 29/05/2025 17:35

It's similar to my daughter's - we call it Old Money Blonde! (I read this somewhere as being a thing 😉)

Gattopard · 29/05/2025 17:52

Light golden brown

I love that ( and know what you mean!)

ResidentPorker · 29/05/2025 18:57

It's light brown.

MaryGreenhill · 29/05/2025 18:58

Beautiful hair OP l think it's a lovely light brown with blond highlights

Turmerictolly · 29/05/2025 19:03

Light brown in first picture but dark blonde in second and front facing picture. It’s in lovely condition.

Solaire18381 · 29/05/2025 19:08

Light brown

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 29/05/2025 20:04

It's not mouse brown. It's far too rich a colour.

Med brown. What my mum would call mousey brown.

I wouldn't call it blonde at all, not even dark blonde.

Too warm to be mousy brown. Mousy brown is more ashy. This is more bronde

Brown
