Im really struggling to find anything that suits me post DC. I’m very petite, 5ft and a size 6 but I hate my post baby stomach pooch. I also have 0 boobs. I’m 35 so not young.

I always get the outfit wrong and would like to feel nice and confident just for once.

Is it too white? Too much?

Alternatively if anyone’s seen something similar that would work I would much appreciate it.
The brief would be:
-Midi ideally or a long mini if acceptable. I know this is maxi but sheer on the bottom so maybe won’t make me look like I’ve stolen someone else’s clothes.
-Normally neck or strappy…can’t do anything that means I can’t wear a bra. Hate one shoulders.uu
-Any acceptable wedding colour except green or yellow as I’m ginger.
-Ideally not too floaty as I drown in it. Maybe less fitted on the stomach but fitted around the bum (my only asset!)

I really want to look classy and expensive rather than cheap.

Any help much appreciated.

I really like that @Overtheatlantic . The print is very far from what I would usually choose but I think I’ll order loads and try them on!

It’s lovely. You will get the too-white crowd along in a minute though, just saying…

because it is.

Thanks all.
Ive ordered the blue club L and the orange zara one to try.

Debating trying this too, anything glarlingly

Hi @Fourpawsblack this last one looks good, although I can only see a picture that shows it partially. Is it just me?

Similarly, I like the green, and I imagine if you’re not tall it won’t be too cropped at all, well worth a go. I do like these metallic touches that you’ve been drawn to, they’re pretty.

No to the first one, being honest.

I have to say the ‘pooch’ auto correct made me smile!

housethatbuiltme · 19/05/2025 13:38

Given that floral wedding dresses are in fashion its far too bridal.

The pink one someone else posted is fine.

I also really like the blue one (but I'm bias as I dressed my MOH an near identical dress). I don't think you can look 'too bridesmaid' unless you wear the same dress as the bridesmaids which would be really coincidental.

luckylavender · 19/05/2025 14:00

It's not white. You'll be fine

Tryonemoretime · 19/05/2025 14:34

I'm a natural red head. When I had my colours done, I realised that warm 'spring' tones look great on me....buttercup yellow and warm, bright orange makes me glow!

SnugOrca · 19/05/2025 15:31

It’s not too white at all to me, it’s so obviously NOT a bridal dress

Maybe I’m partial as I’ve suggested the club London dresses… 😆🫣 but I really think that out of the many suggestions, if you’re going for classy and elegant you usually would want either a block colour or large flower designs. The smaller the flowers, the more casual it gets imo.

I’m slightly younger, but basically there, and can absolute relate to the early 2000s looks.

None of the dresses would be very bridesmaid like imo - but I haven’t been to a wedding in a minute, so maybe things have shifted - but it would also be obvious you’re a guest. I think you’re overthinking it.

If you’re ginger, the light blue dresses will look bomb on you.
Another colour to think of is deep forest/bottle green depending on if your hair is lighter going to blonde or darker going to red. Albeit I think for this time that deep of green doesn’t suit unless it’s a night time event I guess.

Lastly, at a size 6, you honestly can wear almost anything and it looks fantastic, but I understand that regardless of size, when your body changes post pregnancy it’s hard to recognise yourself. Hugs ❤️

Too White…. Rubbish!

it’s perfect wedding attire

Thank you! The club London one is sold out 😭
I was thinking it was the one too!

They have it in red but is red a bit much?

This is just the ticket. Good choice.

Outrageistheopiateofthemasses · 19/05/2025 18:15

Waaay too white

BobbyBiscuits · 19/05/2025 18:47

The ruching around the stomach will draw attention a bit I think. I like it but prefer if the torso/waist part was just cinched in without the ruching. If you're a six I'm sure there's many other styles that would suit and flatter you.

Koalafan · 19/05/2025 18:50

I like it (for someone younger than me, such as you) and don't think it's too white, however some brides can be quite precious so it might be better to look for a different colour.

I do like those, plus the new look one you linked. I have one of the ones that is pictured in the bottom of the new look pic and i’ve wore it to a wedding and got lots of compliments.

Im so glad I asked you all…I would have still been lost looking for a bodycon dress from 2010.

Okay I’m on the waiting list for the blue club L to come back in…not sure if stock will arrive in time though! I have also ordered the new look pink one. Hopefully one of these works.

Did we decide on whether Red was okay for a wedding? I can get this one but not sure if it’s too look at me?

Too white in my opinion, and I'm usually fairly laid back about white at weddings
I think it's the white with a light pattern combined with the style
I suspect in photos the light blue might fade out to make it look even more white

I love it!

sasamummy · 20/05/2025 00:18

I wore this last week. Is it too green? I think green and ginger go brilliantly. Ive got copper/red hair. I'm very petite with practically no boobs. Gold block heel sandal and red handbag. Got lots of compliments and so easy to wear all day and night. They also do a similar version in black/white. https://www.newlook.com/uk/womens/clothing/dresses/green-abstract-print-short-sleeve-midi-shirt-dress/p/916979039?extcam=UK_PPC_PLA_Designer_Core_Google_DV_c_AGID_126584460476_PRID_9169831&_cclid=Google_CjwKCAjwravBBhBjEiwAIr30VCHnM84OIMHuf7JW4HOPPvdtj3nE8hHDNvytGfY1S5CEM3O7QmRbIBoCCgMQAvD_BwE&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1930161284&gbraid=0AAAAAD2UatPNwUuwxqa1fj4Z1jnsbp-Op&gclid=CjwKCAjwravBBhBjEiwAIr30VCHnM84OIMHuf7JW4HOPPvdtj3nE8hHDNvytGfY1S5CEM3O7QmRbIBoCCgMQAvD_BwE

As you are very petite I think this style would swamp you.

I recently wore this to a wedding, it's fitted but has ruching and no issues with bra wearing! It's very flattering on, I'm 5ft 3 and it was midi length on me.

This dress in orange is stunning
