Help me find sandals for my huge feet

Perimenoanti · 16/05/2025 11:55

I have just returned men's ugg sandals as they didn't look right and even they were too tight around my ankle.

I am a size 9 in trainers; sandals could be 8 or 9 depending. I also have massive ankles and 'high' feed iykwim. I'm looking for comfortable walking sandals with a soft sole (like the ugg ones or trainers) that bloody fit. I get achey feet easily, so the soft but substantial sole is quite important. Nothing like flip flops. They need to have a proper footbed.

What can people recommend?

I have looked at the women's uggs but I am not hopeful if even a men's size 9 couldn't fit around my ankle. I'm really hoping I can find some.

These might work? The straps are elasticated and they've a soft sole, and come in wide fit. They go up to a 9.

i have these, they go up to 8.5? The bands are all elasticated and the sole is soft, they are very comfy

These seem perfect. It would make my summer if they fit.

@thenewaveragebear1983 they must be popular as they are pretty much sold out.

Josef Seibel do some size 9 sandals on their website that look like they have a comfortable sole

These are good

and have you tried Sketchers?

Gettingbysomehow · 16/05/2025 12:15

Check out Long Tall Sally. They go up to a 12 in size.
Seriously though high arched feet are a nightmare to find shoes for no matter what foot size you are.

Have a look at The Art Company. They do a lot of sandals with chunky soles. They go up to a 42 for women so U.K. 8.5 but their men’s sandals look similar / identical and go up to much bigger sizes.

I haven’t tried them myself but I have friends who swear by their sandals and say they’re comfy and well made.

I bought the men's version of these last year because I have wide feet and high arches. They are great - the sole is supportive and comfortable, I can walk forever in them

lighttheworldagain · 16/05/2025 13:35

Loads of FitFlop ones go up to 9

Looking into these now because a lot of reviewers mention they are excellent for high arches!

No. They are awful. Usually very narrow and anything beyond a size 8 is rarely available.

I buy men's sizes. Perfect.

JD Williams have a big selection of size 9’s. These are similar to the earlier post that were sold out.these also have an elasticated ankle strap.

Have you looked at Dr Martens? My feet are a size 8, the Clarissa quads are incredibly comfortable and have the bouncy soles, they’re pretty heavy but I don’t notice them when wearing them, this will be my third summer of wearing the same pair so whilst they’re pricy they’ve done a lot of miles

DMs are wide and large fitting too.
I'm an 8.5/9, but can wear an 8 in DMs.

These are really comfy with built in arch support. I could walk in these all day. They are adjustable on the back strap as well so they fit round my fat ankles. I normally size down in skechers.

I spend the entire summer in Birkenstocks.
