Does this dress go with this fascinator?

Wedding in the summer… I’ve already bought this dress (approved by bride 😊) but looking for a hat or fascinator to wear. I’ve seen this one in the photo… do you think it will look ok?
The background on the dress is more of a cream (the photo makes it look whiter than it is)

If not… any suggestions or recommendations?

My hair is dark, shoulder length, and will be in a low bun

It will go well. But on the basis that animal print is apparently a neutral you could also go with wild with pink or other bright accessories - up to you!
nice dress tho. I like it!

nahthatsnotforme · 12/05/2025 18:01

Yes lovely, but I would also consider a colour.

Changeissmall · 12/05/2025 18:04

Going against other posters here but no. The dress is animal print so the rose thing feels like a different vibe.
Fascinators are not really a thing much any more. Hardly any at the last wedding I went to. Charity shops are full of them!!

TomatoSandwiches · 12/05/2025 18:04

Yes, suits very well!

Changeissmall · 12/05/2025 18:05

Yes, dress is great. I like how the model has styled it.

I agree with this. The colours match but the vibe doesn’t.

Love a fascinator
it goes fine
but I’d put a splash of colour in maybe a necklace bag etc

AreolaGrande · 12/05/2025 18:09

The dress is great.

The fascinator is not and imo would really detract from the vibe of the dress.

Is no fascinator an option? Much more chic.

Vicliz24 · 12/05/2025 18:12

Could you have no fascinator and go bright with accessories?

Olika · 12/05/2025 18:13

I don’t think so as the dress and fascinator are different styles. They give me different vibe when I look at them.

PansyPottering · 12/05/2025 18:18

I agree that they don’t go together style wise.

whatonearthishappenin · 12/05/2025 18:22

Love the dress but I’m afraid the fascinator just isn’t very nice… do really like the though!

WhenIsRubbishDay · 12/05/2025 18:29

You’ve said what I was thinking… the colours are ok but it’s the styles, it wasn’t really adding up for me and you lovely people have confirmed.

I also get what some of you have said about not having a fascinator, but I would like something… and most of the female guests I’ve spoken to are also choosing to have a hat or fascinator. I shall keep looking…

Quite a few people had large hair pins at the last wedding I went to, or large jewels etc. which looked nice, Etsy sellers do lots of different styles.
you could wear a small hat rather than fascinator

whatonearthishappenin · 12/05/2025 18:36

Agree with the PP; Etsy have some lovely more modern options! I agree that a colour would love lovely.

wafflesmgee · 12/05/2025 18:43

Black small hats for a Jackie O vibe

Agree. It doesn't go. The fascinator is pretty, demure and well ladylike. It's the wrong vibe for animal print.

wafflesmgee · 12/05/2025 18:51

I kind of love this frieda Kahlo inspired vibe but may be too “boho”
other images are egs of a feather headband idea, a large hair jewel and smaller hair jewel

Lovely dress and ditch the fascinator. Very few people have worn them at the recent weddings I’ve been to.

I had my hair half up with a really nice clip.

FKAT · 12/05/2025 19:02

The dress has got a 40s vibe so what about a brightly coloured silk scarf or turban style headband?

JDM625 · 12/05/2025 19:24

I'm also against the many other posters, but I wouldn't have put the bride in a position to feel obliqued to say 'Oh yes, that is a lovely print!!!'

Maybe she did like it, but equally, she might have felt put on the spot to agree! Personally, I wouldn't have black in my dress as a wedding guest nor animal prints, which I can't stand and look cheap IMO- but I realise, that is 100% a ME thing.

I also have dark hair and would add some colour, rather than a monochrome look. Do you suit jewel colours? There are some lovely headbands, clips and hair accessories available to add some colour to the look.

The bride came shopping with me and picked it out herself.
