Does this dress go with this fascinator?

Wedding in the summer… I’ve already bought this dress (approved by bride 😊) but looking for a hat or fascinator to wear. I’ve seen this one in the photo… do you think it will look ok?
The background on the dress is more of a cream (the photo makes it look whiter than it is)

If not… any suggestions or recommendations?

My hair is dark, shoulder length, and will be in a low bun

Definitely not the right vibe.

im struggling to imagine what head piece would look good with that dress - it needs something modern and structured to reflect the cross halter neckline but I don’t know what

These are lovely!

I don't think small, neat Jackie O pill box hats are the right vibe either.

Lovely but not the right vibe, sadly agree

Im revising my position on structural - I think your best option is a massive 70s style hat with some flopiness as posted by someone above.

anything with so much of a hint of bling is going to end up looking cheap fast.

Just to note, Karen Millen has a range of hats/fascinators which may be of interest?

I like this one from Karen M, good idea! I still think the Jackie O hats would work well, happy to agree to disagree but I think mixing eras and styles works well

I think a massive hat would also look nice but they are a pain to wear and look odd in photos when you are one of the main party, I’d worry it would look like you were wanting too much attention when standing next to the bride if you know what I mean? Whereas a smaller structured hat is fun without the drama

£127 for that Karen Millen one 😫 seems a little pricey (for me) but it’s fabulous!
How about the one on the left in this pic… what do we think??

Love the dress, so nice, not sure about the fascinator, I’d try a few more styles with it.

Not sure about them either. Pairing things that weren't made to go with each but work, works- e.g Doc Marten boots with floaty Laura Ashley/Cabbages & Roses dresses , Harris tweed jackets over silk slip dresses ,second dinner jackets with jeans but they work because of the contrast.

Your dress is not as formal as the Karen Millen fascinators but there's not enough difference to make a contrast but too much to make a match.

It’s too busy. Go for plain black cream, keep it low key as that’s a great dress but it doesn’t need any additional noise

Maddy70 · 13/05/2025 00:02

No dress goes with s fascinator these days. Go with a really classy hair clip
