Best Hairdryer

Please recommend your favourite hair dryer that isn't a Dyson, looking for a new one that leaves hair with volume rather than flat looking

I think it’s more about how you dry it, often .Many good non commercial hairdryers are heavy.

LongRangeDessertGroup · 07/05/2025 07:06

Babyliss air wand, it has two attachments so you can use it like a standard hair dryer or add the brush for volume. I sold my Dyson as found it made my fine hair look limp.

I love my shark

Londontown12 · 07/05/2025 17:26

Parlux are fabulous light weight and good airflow x

Lolopolo · 07/05/2025 17:33

Parlux all the way.

Snorlaxo · 07/05/2025 17:33

Parlux is the brand most often used in salons.

LucieChardon · 07/05/2025 17:53

Parlux for me too, I've had mine for close to 20 years and still going strong.

I dry my long hair upside down, that gives lots of volume. Mousse into the hair roots for extra lift if I can be bothered.

LightOfAThousandStars · 07/05/2025 23:30

Wow lots of Parlux recommendations, which model is good to invest in?

I love my parlux too. It’s quite heavy though.

im a hairdresser and this is the one I have ! Mines pink ! Very light !

Edited

I have that very one in a pretty turquoise colour. Can highly recommend. Tried a Dyson previously but it made my hair crispy!

LightOfAThousandStars · 08/05/2025 20:34

Thank you everyone, is it best to buy directly from Parlux or can you order from Amazon too? I'm worried about there being a fake on Amazon.

Londontown12 · 08/05/2025 21:25

I’d buy from Parlux direct x

shuffleofftobuffalo · 08/05/2025 22:11

I love my shark - best hairdryer I’ve ever had.

You will love it 🥰 x

(Appreciate you’ve already bought it now …) but I too love my Parlux which has been going strong for years now - I bought each of my daughters one a few years back too!

BlackSwan · 09/05/2025 16:50

Good decision!

Thank you, after seeing it loved by so many I thought it was best to invest. Great to hear they last long too 😊

I see you've already committed OP but in case anyone is interested in a less pricier option I've found the Babyliss 3Q really good. Dries the hair quickly, not overly heavy and I've had mine years (daily use) and it's going strong. Has a long length cable too, which I like

Far better than the Dyson which i also have (a xmas present) and that's just sitting in a box somewhere because I didn't like it at all.

Mikart · 10/05/2025 06:23

I have had a parlux for many years and love it....but since breaking my shoulder a few months ago find it too heavy. Just ordered the Aylon 😀

MaggieBsBoat · 10/05/2025 06:34

Im 51 and after breaking my arm last year I am not very strong or flexible. Is the Parlux going to be too much do you think? I want a good hair dryer desperately but haven’t used one for decades so I’m clueless. Thanks!

Catsinaflat · 10/05/2025 06:43

@MaggieBsBoat I have this one. It’s very light (340g) and incredibly powerful! I love it.
