Had an influx of “hey lovely can send today” “don’t you want this”? “Please look at
my other items !!!”

Does one just block!!??

I unfavourite items when people do this as I’m a miserable cow and it drives me insane

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 14/04/2025 23:10

I assume you liked one of their items? Sellers do it try and get a sale, it's not that odd

Hattieandcake · 14/04/2025 23:10

Yes I have liked an item but it’s OTT! Puts me off if anything.

This is so annoying, I ignore them

HundredPercentUnsure · 14/04/2025 23:12

My favourite one to ignore was "can you throw in a used pair of socks with those shoes as well please?"

There are some really creepy people out there. 😂

neilyoungismyhero · 14/04/2025 23:12

I just delete the messages straight away.
Some people seem desperate to sell.

So just ignore or block. Some people hate it others don't mind, sellers won't please everyone

sploshsplash · 14/04/2025 23:14

I don’t mind it. Sometimes I will make a cheeky offer if they say they are posting that day. I obviously liked the item to begin with.

They're just trying to sell. I just ignore or make an offer. I like people telling me that they post promptly, they're good sellers.

ExcellentLawnOrnament · 15/04/2025 08:28

If I liked an item but wasn't sure about something then a message from the seller will sometimes prompt me to ask a question or make an offer (and buy, occasionally).

If not then I usually just ignore. I don't suppose sellers expect a response to these messages.

If you go into your settings on vinted you can turn off the notifications and it means when you favourite something the seller cannot message you as they don't know who has put it in their favourites..

You still get told when something is reduced but it stops the silly messages telling you they are posting today etc.

TeaRoseTallulah · 15/04/2025 10:39

I see it as the equivalent of a shop assistant coming up and asking if they can help you.

Hepzibar · 15/04/2025 10:44

fell for this just the once. It was something like ‘grab yourself a bargain it’s a lovely wee top’. So I did - it had the charity shop smell and the lining was torn under armpits. Won’t entertain those type of messages now.

Me too, but in the sense that I hate this as well. I am looking and am quite capable of asking for help if I actually need something.

CatsChin · 15/04/2025 10:51

I ignore these but largely because Vinted is really bumbling with its emails and you can't one-click anything. It's very annoying.

so you say, after assidiously searching and about to leave the shoe section - whilst holding a black leather sndal in M&S, Bexleyheath, no thank you, I was searching for a 7 which you obviously don’t have (isn’t it about time these shelves were tidied as it’s only 9.30 and they are in complete disarray)
customer liaison person - well wht is that size you have there (and begins rummaging on shelves) -
customer - a 6, this was my template -
clp carries on as though customer is blind daft passive helpless

triumphantly! we have a 7 in Stone !

this is what M&S call Customer Service

if thiswas onVinted no wonder it has well passed its zenith

You should have charged an extra £20 😂 there’s a market.

dudsville · 15/04/2025 11:37

It doesn't bother me, but the most I've had is an offer of a slight reduction or the statement that they can post the item today. Tbf, I don't favorite much. Now and then I'm curious to see how an item fares, so I'll favorite it to follow it. I don't see the reason in favouriting. Make an offer, ask a question, but why favourite it?

Lovelysummerdays · 15/04/2025 11:40

I got a hey lovely I think I sold those at a car boot sale but would you like to have a look at other items. Erm no I’d like a refund please.

TokyoSushi · 15/04/2025 11:54

I unlike!

BebbanburgIsMine · 15/04/2025 12:19

It doesn’t bother me at all, I just see it as beinga nice seller (I don’t sell, I only buy)

thewashingneverends · 15/04/2025 12:22

I had a seller reach out to me saying she was accepting offers, so I suggested an offer and she blocked me after telling me the offer was too low. The item still pops up on my suggested feed (weird) I desperately want it and to add insult to injury she has reduced it to a lot less than what my offer originally was and I can't buy it or contact her because she has blocked me - so frustrating.

Hardlyworking · 15/04/2025 12:23

I had the 'I'm posting today so if you buy now I'll get it sent right out' So I bought it 20 minutes later, only for them to sit on it for 5 days. When I queried she said 'oh sorry, you was too slow, I'd already posted the rest'.

Stupid cow. I purposefully didn't click the everything is ok button so she had to wait the maximum time for the money.

menopausalfart · 15/04/2025 13:20

@HundredPercentUnsure I'd have milked the sock fiend for every last dollar.😜
