Chilly!

Baguettesandcheeseforever · 28/03/2025 15:04

Is it a structured colour block outfit you’re looking for?

I would go for wide legged tailored trousers with heels in the same fabric as the waistcoat and dress up with accessories, makeup and hair.

Outofthepan · 28/03/2025 15:05

I love this outfit and think it looks perfect!

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 28/03/2025 15:06

I’ve been going racing for more than forty years. I can count the number of times I have been hot on the fingers of one hand.

Racecourses are very exposed ( they would have to be because otherwise you couldn’t see the racing) , so windy. On thé rare occasions they are hot, they are very hot because there is no shade ( see previous comment). There tends to be more grass that hard standing ( also cinder paths feature) so heels sink in.

This outfit not seem very propitious for your enjoyment , OP.

TwoRobins · 28/03/2025 15:07

Not keen on the outfit, OP. Just tragically envious of your fantastic figure. Those legs!!!!😯

Outofthepan · 28/03/2025 15:08

This would be very much what people would wear to races up here. No to white tailored trousers, or the wide leg trousers that are apparently the answer to all outfit conundrums On here 🙈

I think if done well and on a good figure (which the OP has) it can look really good. The key is in finding the right cut to fit well and good material. If done wrong it can look naff.

mylittledoggie · 28/03/2025 15:11

It’s in a private box mostly with a load of fellas so not like I’ll look out of place with all the glam women. I think I might try with some jeans. That would be more my style than this or the typical summer racing style dresses.

There's too many different vibes going on there - the sharp waistcoat then the beachy fun shorts which do look a bit like Victorian drawers and then the red heels . They are all fighting each other. Heels and shorts are a bit Love island too 😬

Shetlands · 28/03/2025 15:16

If you want to wear shorts, you could go for something more tailored like these:

mylittledoggie · 28/03/2025 15:19

Yeah they are just not really my vibe (not for £80 anyway!). Gonna try the jeans angle see what that looks like.

Any ideas what you would wear the shorts with for another day? Just more casual?

To bland for me i like color.
Bloomer pants and a waistcoat sorry op its awful.
But if you like than who cares.

glitterturd · 28/03/2025 15:21

You're very well prepared 😊

Snackpocket · 28/03/2025 15:22

I think you are so brave planning to wear all white! I know someone would spill something on me for sure!

TheSquareMile · 28/03/2025 15:22

@mylittledoggie

Would this suit you, OP?

RaraRachael · 28/03/2025 15:23

I'm no fashionista but it looks like an odd combination to me. Maybe a dress or a longish floaty skirt with the same top.

mylittledoggie · 28/03/2025 15:23

not keen sorry but thanks for looking! I’m not keen on jump suits either, I’m quite long bodied so they tend to pull up my bum! 😕

Flat sandals or chunky platforms and maybe a blouse/shirt of some kind. Shorts with stilettos look weird to me. Also yes to what the person said about being cold. You could be freezing in this and I'm nor sure what would look right as an extra layer over it.

Sowhatistheendgame · 28/03/2025 15:42

Waistcoat lovely. Shorts not so much…….although they’d be nice a simple plain vest top in the summer.
I’d oair the waistcoat with these www.karenmillen.com/compact-stretch-essential-wide-leg-tailored-trouser/BKK22065-133-20.html?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAACo7BY-jGMbE1VOXh0KtKpyd2vyRi&gclid=Cj0KCQjwkZm_BhDrARIsAAEbX1GbPk37ATGbCv7P8BqetXLsE7biWBWEG23h0JIzzkog-a9SD3_qV9caAuuaEALw_wcB

Agree with many others - the waistcoat top is fab and just needs some elegant widelegs in a similar colour. You could get away with minimal accessories and flat sandals and still look classy.

The shorts are not elegant sorry and despite your amazing legs they look a bit odd - here's why: Rule of thirds
