£150 to spend on new clothes, what would you get?

I am skint so asked for hard cash for my birthday so I can buy clothes. I don't want to blow it all in mega cheapo shops like primark because I know the stuff won't last. I want summer clothes that I will probably wear next year, none of this 'bang on trend' nonsense. But not frumpy mumsy boring safe either.
I'm 5'2 size 12 blonde curly.

I would get these really nice well cut linen trousers from hobbs, here. They are so comfy, tried them on today, and can be dressed up or down. They come in various colours. You will need to get them taken up though.

That leaves you £70 .HMMm will have a think.

I feel as though dresses are great value for money.

Linen trousers are always good to have.
Where's Nailpolish, she usually loves this sort of challenge.

Hi Lilliput,
This is going to sound weird and stalkerish but i searched my home town and found your threads. I'm not a crazy stalker honest.
But I'm going to be back home next week and wondered if you could tell me if there are any mother and toddler groups i could go to during the week with my 3.5 and 1 year old boys.
Also, there are some nice dresses in monsoon at the moment for about £45-55. i agree dresses are good value because you get the whole outfit.

Collision · 13/05/2008 22:11

I would buy a couple of pair of linen trousers......good quality ones.

A long 'school run' dress.

A black cardigan/shrug thing.

A couple of pair of sandals.

A white tshirt, a black tshirt and a couple of colourful tops.

And chunky jewellry.

Lilliput · 13/05/2008 22:13

Woah!!!Dragonbutter, that's weird. You will have to give a clue as to who you are in RL. Bound to know, it's a snall town .

Dragonbutter · 13/05/2008 22:15

ok, but only if you're ok with this. was hoping to bump into you at some point. not sure if i can give clues. let me think. how can i give you a clue without making it obvious to anyone else that might be from there?

Lilliput · 13/05/2008 22:16

I'm really intrigued now!

OP posts:
Dragonbutter · 13/05/2008 22:19

what clues would help you?

Lilliput · 13/05/2008 22:19

Come on.....nobody I know in RL uses mumsnet, it is my own dirty secret. All my Rl friends think I'm a little sad for having internet friends.

If you are 30, you must know my little bro.

OP posts:
Dragonbutter · 13/05/2008 22:21

I think our big brothers might have been in the same class. His name begins with E.
Is this fun?
I hope at the end of this you don't go. Oh god it's you, i can't stand you!

Lilliput · 13/05/2008 22:23

OP posts:
Dragonbutter · 13/05/2008 22:23

Lilliput · 13/05/2008 22:32

OP posts:
Dragonbutter · 13/05/2008 22:32

How about i randomly post my initials on a random thread?

Lilliput · 13/05/2008 22:33

OP posts:
Dragonbutter · 13/05/2008 22:34

Or suggest my name on a baby names thread?

Clothes yes. I tried this on today. Am deciding whether to buy it.

Dragonbutter · 13/05/2008 22:35

how do i do that? heard of it but never figured out what you do?

rookiemater · 13/05/2008 22:35

I really like Phase Eight stuff. Although its not cheap, its really well made, some of the things are even made in the UK, and lasts for ages. There is even a 20% discount if you buy things online, go into the Discounts & promotional codes to get it.

They have lovely jersey shrugs, can you tell I have just bought one ? They are £35.00 and you could buy some cheap jersey camisoles from anywhere really to wear with it and a pair of nice cropped trousers,M&S actually has some decent ones. Pair of funky sandals and some jewellery.
