Sludge coloured clothes?

Have spent the day at a rather nice club (get me!). It’s very noticeable that everyone, man, woman and child, is wearing clothes in varying shades of olive, khaki, dull pink, grey or beige.

Is this a thing? I am happily wearing a grey jumper and navy jeans: and I feel a bit bright!

I have recently bought a chocolate brown jumper. I also like cream ( and white.) I don’t like what I refer to as shit brown, that awful shade of brown which doesn’t suit anyone, yet I see people wearing leggings that colour. I don’t like the very casual look of joggers and sweat shirts in grey or sludge. It looks very rough on must people.

Yep, noticed it too. I hate that beige, camel, toffee, whatever you call it look. Brown doesn't suit me, brighter spring colours do.

I was trying to buy some T shirts in brights or pastels and they're all black, brown and white - awful! So depressing.

Oh my goodness you’re right!

I’ve seen the variations of cream and wondered how they function in real life but the sludge is creeping in too. It’s not nice (although I could do with a brown long sleeved jersey top to go with a twenty year old monsoon skirt that I never got around to throwing away, so maybe now is my moment)

The sludge can stay....what needs to feck the hell right off is butter yellow!
Everywhere I keep seeing this shade and it makes me look like a corpse (mustard yellow is more my thing).

All pastels look horrible on me and as they are usually brought out every spring Im grateful for abit of sludge!

They have all been shopping in Uniqlo.

I hate sludgy colours. They just don't suit me at all and make me look washed out and ill.

I wear colours that suit me not colours that are "in fashion"

Agree, Uniqlo used to have a great range of colours, but for years now it's been mainly muddy tones of pink, khaki and beige. All hideous on me.

That’s giving me a throwback to my brownie uniform - don’t think I’ve worn the two colours together since!

As to buying colours that are 'in fashion', retail makes decisions on colours up to a year in advance, and these muted sludgy colours have been 'in' for a while.

I think muted colours are ok if you stick to what colours look nice on you, but they can veer into dull, and make your complexion sallow.

I randomly went to Uniqlo t-shirts, and not a bright to be found;

Although I do like this LandsEnd spring jacket..
