Korean Skincare - Good gift idea?

xsquared · 12/03/2025 22:21

My sister is 40 soon, and I know she likes Korean skincare but I've not asked her what brand she uses.

I was thinking of getting this beauty box from Boots for her, but if it were you, would you be disappointed? I know people generally don't like gift sets.

OP, that is a fantastic offer with an excellent range of top products. I'm going to get one for myself.

TokyoSushi · 12/03/2025 22:28

I would absolutely love that!

Pinktruffle · 12/03/2025 22:29

I use Korean Skincare and that is a great range of products. I would be happy to receive that

Anxietystrikesagainyay · 12/03/2025 22:32

i would be buzzing to receive this. I use Korean skincare myself and a couple of bits in that box I use daily anyway, and I would have some new things to try also. It’s a great deal, I’m sure she’ll love it.

xsquared · 12/03/2025 22:35

Thank you.
To be honest, I don't have a clue about K beauty, but it seems to be the thing at the moment! I might even be tempted to a set myself!

OP posts:
Aussiegold · 12/03/2025 22:47

Well, I've just treated myself to it!

UpMyself · 13/03/2025 08:33

It looks great value and very appealing but she might have preferred brands.

MulberryPeony · 13/03/2025 10:53

Yes! That’s a nice mix of decent K brands.

Trickedbyadoughnut · 13/03/2025 11:14

I hope you ordered it as it's showing out of stock for me!

Yes me too! 😁
You don’t work for Boots do you op?

Oh wow! That was quick.

Yes, I ordered one for my sister in time.

unstableunicorn · 13/03/2025 19:38

Went to order, got sidetracked ten minutes and it sold out! Do we think it'll come back in stock any time soon??

Britneyfan · 13/03/2025 19:40

I love gift sets personally, though I would want them to have at least one product from one of my preferred brands. Definitely worth asking what brands she likes.

PanickingNowHelpPlease · 14/03/2025 07:37

Now I really want this, but it’s out of stock! All you lucky folks who got in quick please share what it’s like…

DenholmElliot11 · 14/03/2025 07:56

Gonna pop in a high street boots today see if i can get one there

Daftypants · 14/03/2025 09:00

That’s a fantastic offer and apparently the sunscreen in the beauty box is excellent

XiCi · 14/03/2025 09:58

Gutted I missed this. The serum, sunblock & lip balm are all gorgeous. They are also all well known, good brands. You sister will be so happy with that OP. Says stock coming soon on the website so fingers crossed they'll come back into stock.

Purplecatshopaholic · 14/03/2025 11:23

I missed this too, and I loooove Korean skincare - boo! Will be keeping eye out for this coming back in stock.

curiouscat1987 · 14/03/2025 12:55

I used to be a skincare influencer (korean, japanese and taiwanese) and these all look like decent brands. The only thing id say is maybe check her skin type and whether the products are designed for that skin type as quite a lot of kbeauty is aimed more at oily skin!

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 14/03/2025 13:22

I know this isn't entirely the point of the thread but I cannot recommend the Beauty of Joseon retinol eye cream (which I realise isn't the B of J product in this set) enough

They are all well known ‘ brands’ if you know Korean skincare!

Hwi · 14/03/2025 18:59

Ethnic skincare is like ethnic food - you have to be born into it to be able to use it on a regular basis. It is not made for Northern Europeans, it is geared towards its target audience. Now, colourful Korean cosmetics like eye shadow, lipsticks, etc. - totally different and a good gift for anyone.

Erm what? 🤣🤣

Ddakji · 14/03/2025 19:45

I hope you don’t mind if I hijack your thread @xsquared but as there are clearly some K beauty experts on here - is K beauty good for older skin? If so, any particular brands to look out for? Also quite sensitive skin.
