What colour should I paint my toe nails? I don't want to but feel I ought to.

I never paint my toe nails but now feel I ought to (being a grown up and all) but I have no idea what colour to do. What's the least offensive, easy to maintain, hardwearing colour?

That is dark. Quite like the Shanghai (in a dullard sort of way).

Moosma · 12/05/2008 16:37

I think something pale would be a good idea as I don't want to draw attention to my slightly odd shaped nails

a nude colour can be suurprisingly nice

try it

CocodeBear · 12/05/2008 16:37

Ooh, I like Vamp

Lucycat · 12/05/2008 16:38

ooh i like that 'Madness' one - I seem to be wearing a Boots one very similar to that by complete accident!

ReachOutAndTeuch · 12/05/2008 16:41

I am wearing a kind of metallic teal. It is lovely, it is!!

I usually play safe with 'Nude' colours, but they just look a bit boring tbh.

I don't like french pedicures (or whatever they are called) as they look like monkey-hands or something.

I have, however, heard about gel nails for toes, that are practically invincible so stay shiny and chip-free for ages...

monkey hands?

ReachOutAndTeuch · 12/05/2008 16:50

well...fingerish toes, then!

Pillow · 12/05/2008 16:51

Vamp is Rouge Noir in the US

MascaraOHara · 12/05/2008 16:52

I eaither wear

red
khaki
brown
dark - alomost black purpley like colour (is nicer than sounds)
french manicure

I am very pale skinned.

I never wear a colour on my fingers though. always either a (good) french manicure or just a nail brightener

AdamAnt · 12/05/2008 16:53

I agree with whoever suggested rouge noir. It's esp good if you're a little pale - a bit Dita von Teese.

time4tea · 12/05/2008 17:02

anyone got any tips for someone with rather dark pink around the edges feet (not unlike a pigeon) orangey things clash horribly. usually I go for a dark crimson but fancy a change

noddyholder · 12/05/2008 17:09

orange

PrincessPeaHead · 12/05/2008 17:13

madness not at all grey or blue. it is a rich winey red with quite a lot of brown in it.

sort of the colour of a very old claret (do I win the poncetastic award of the day?)

PPH - I'd have given you a poncetastic bonus point if you'd said Lafite-Rothschild.

millie1 · 12/05/2008 19:41

What colour for horrible, horrible toes with a fungal infection (you know the thick yellowing kind) ? Any suggestions to overcome that problem?

nailpolish · 12/05/2008 20:30

you need a 6 mth course of griseofulvin for that

twinsetandpearls · 12/05/2008 22:19
