Never found a flattering pair of jeans - apple shape and feeling rubbish!

Please please help! I am getting quite down about this, as ridiculous as it sounds.

I have a 3 year old and never lost my baby weight - I'm left with an apple shape, so big tummy, slim legs and big bust (36DD/E). My tummy is quite pronounced and I just can't find any jeans to flatter. Any I buy seem to be too tight on the waist and/or just baggy and unflattering on my smaller bum and legs.

What sort of style should I be looking for and any brand suggestions? Please help! I really want some decent jeans for spring. Thank you

I bought a pair from peacocks last week and they are very flattering - part of Louise Rednapp range , lovely soft denim

I didn't think to check peacocks! Thank you

My first pair have just arrived and I’m so happy I will share pics. Remember they are jeans not magicians and I would never wear a top this short with them 😆

They look great on you and your legs look fab!

I agree with everyone who has said you need proper thick denim. I also think a straight leg works best. Levis are good for this, but by far and away the most flattering jeans I ever had were NYDJ. They really know what they are doing!

I would love some Levis, it's just the price tag at the moment...will see how I get on with the cheaper ones first! I'll check out NYDJ too, thank you

Are you on Insta? There’s a fashion page called Shannon Futcher. She’s an extreme apple and shows off loads of nice outfit ideas. She’s bigger than you, but the overall ideas may help.

Another vote for Tu - I find them a similar fit to M&S but half the price. Currently living in the barrel jeans, I know not for everyone but they really work for me.

Great, thanks, I've given her a follow!

I've ordered the leopard print barrel jeans in a couple of sizes - high hopes for them but have struggled with the waist being too tight in the past with Tu

I have just tried on a bunch of jeans I've had delivered - so I thought I'd report back in case this helps anyone else.

M&S harper cigarette jeans - I wasn't keen on the turn up and the denim was very, very soft. Agree with a previous poster that this just highlights the problem areas, plus they didn't seem particularly high waisted? I don't think I'll be keeping these, even though they fit me well around the waist and thighs
M&S carrot leg jeans - I wasn't as impressed with these as I thought I would be, the 14 was very snug on my waist and they are a bit wide on the leg and crotch area but I think I'll keep them a bit longer and try and wear them in around the house! The ankle grazer style is very flattering too!
Noisy May slim leg - a bit snug on the waist but I think they're my favourite so far. They're very flattering on my flat bum and slim legs so if they loosen slightly up top I think I'll be keeping them! Like the length too

I'm waiting on the Tu barrel leg jeans so will report back on them...

Thanks for everyone's suggestions so far and I hope this thread is helpful for others too

@CosyRoseDreamer Really pleased that you like them. My black pair arrived today and aren't too tight which usually happens with black jeans. Am a very happy bunny. Just need to find some wide fit smart trainers to go with them...

StripyPanda · 14/03/2025 20:43

Wide leg jeans will balance u out, they look horrendous on the hanger but try a few pairs on with shoes/trainers… i am apple 🍏 shape and love skinnies but always have to have a top hiding my tummy, but when i wear my wide leg jeans i can get away with tucking a top in if i want to

M&S carrot jeans. Look Instagram or TikTok, everyone’s loving them. flattering on everyone. I just bought two pairs

I love m&s carrot jeans, and have also bought two pairs as they really suit me. However I'm a pear shape, my friend who is an apple shape swears by her m&s boyfriend or straight leg jeans.

KeepYaHeadUp · 14/03/2025 21:36

id definitely recommend the M&S carrot jeans. I find them really flattering, comfortable, easy to dress up or down
