Is this bag cheap and tacky looking for everyday use?

I was gifted this bag, it's leather material and very shiny & blingy!
Would this be suitable for a daily everyday use or only a specific occasion like parties etc ( I don't go to any) ?
The straps are exchangeable so it can be customised.

I think it's very standard. You see dozens of them walking around London.

I think silver is considered a neutral.

Oh that's good. I am not in London and I never see any metallic around here..hopefully a trendsetter then lol..

It's lovely but I don't think the metallic would stand up to everyday. maybe keep it in rotation? silver is definitely not neutral tho 🤔

letslaughitoff · 23/02/2025 16:06

Its a no from me i dont like it.
But then again i dont like handbags i have a back pack.

CorragMacDonald · 23/02/2025 16:12

I think the fake gold hardware against the silver material looks a bit crap.

Could you take the tassle thing off and get a strap with silver clips instead?

Other than that it's fine.

Yes, the tassel can be taken off and the hardware is all gold, so no point adding silver hardware strap..

I like it! It's fun and I think silver is a neutral too.

Frieda12 · 23/02/2025 16:29

I like it! I’d change the strap to a plain one in a solid colour that you like and maybe remove the tassel but the bag itself is fun. I like the contrast between the silver bag and gold hardware, I don’t think mixed metals are tacky at all.

TreesAtSea · 23/02/2025 16:41

I like it but then I love metallics. Yes, get rid of the tassel and perhaps fit a strap that's more of a contrast to the silver as PP suggested. I'd use a leather protector spray before use to help keep it in good condition.

Bellainey · 23/02/2025 16:49

I like metallics so I think it is nice. It looks like fun to style!

Screamingabdabz · 23/02/2025 16:51

I love it. It would look lovely in the summer with a summer dress or jeans.

Ohhhthedrama · 23/02/2025 16:59

Do you like it?. If so, use it.

trainermush · 23/02/2025 17:02

I'm always partial to silver leather but don't like the strap

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 23/02/2025 17:04

I think its either a Christmas wear, if you were out on the town and had a blingish outfit,
or a High summer wear. If you were wearing a light coloured outfit. Its quite casual.
I could imagine having it at a festival ir on holiday or a day out with similar white canvas/silver pumps/trainers but not at work.

HundredMilesAnHour · 23/02/2025 17:07

If you like it, use it. Plenty of people around using metallic bags. Admittedly I live in London though where anything goes - I have a huge metallic gold tote bag (by Anya Hindmarch) that I use to transport my pets in to the vet. No-one bats an eyelid.

Outofstylee · 23/02/2025 18:05

I already removed the tassel and I have many straps to put on..

I would say that silver, gold and bronze are neutrals. They are good colours for bags as they will go with any other colour.

Regularmumandfriend · 24/02/2025 01:20

That's a popular make. They normally come with a choice of different strap options. You could go to their website for other strap ideas / combinations and get one that coordinates with a coat or shoes / boots so your outfit feels put together. Don't save it for best. Enjoy your gift.

Mintyt · 24/02/2025 04:57

It's at Pom Pom London bag but a black strap in it to harden it up or sell it on vinted and get a bag you like more.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 24/02/2025 06:47

It’s not to my taste but I hate waste, so I would remove the strap and tassel, and use it as a pouch for toiletries, cables, crap etc when travelling.

AleenaM · 24/02/2025 20:17

The website says it comes with a leather strap too? I'd wear it with that and maybe remove the pompom and buy or add other charms to make it trendier. Silver has been in fashion for trainers, can't see why you can't have a bag too.

I would wear it daily, I don't think it's that dressy for party and going out

tsmainsqueeze · 24/02/2025 20:19

I love it , silver is neutral to me also prefer without the tassel.

Outofstylee · 02/03/2025 08:42

Thanks everyone, so I decided to keep it after I had do many people messaging me to sell it.
