I have both these Barbour jackets, both bought few years back but still brand new with tags.
( hoarding shopaholic, please don’t judge)
I need to downsize and will keep only one.
I sort of like both, hence I got them.
Which one to keep?
Which one looks more ,,cooler,,?
Khaki or burgundy?

I would keep the burgundy.

Sorry this doesn't answer your question directly but go for the one which makes your features 'pop' when you look in the mirror.

I think the khaki one is more visible ,,out there,, as being lighter colour. I’m blond and similar in style to the lady in the burgundy jacket.
The burgundy jacket is more darker however equally nice….

Also both jackets are entirely the same, only difference is the colour.

I'd keep the burgundy just because khaki /green is so ubiquitous in the country.

Phase2 · 19/02/2025 09:25

Green, the burgundy is ageing. But up to you really which one suits you best. I don't love either but maybe they are practical?

LuluBlakey1 · 19/02/2025 09:25

The 'burgundy' one looks rust-coloured to me.

I'd keep the olive green.

The ones in the pictures are not the same, the green is a much nicer shape. Which style are they?

On closer inspection maybe they are but the green one is better fitted on the model.

Anyway I prefer the green.

LuluBlakey1 · 19/02/2025 09:26

If you've had them years and they both still have tags on and are unworn, why are you keeping either of them?

WonderingWanda · 19/02/2025 09:28

Which one goes with more outfits that you own, boots you own etc?

Or a more challenging idea for you seeing as you haven't worn either in in 2 years....can you try parting with both?

I have a relative with similar issues and I think you really need to have therapy to address the underlying issues. I know from experience that cleaning out just begins a whole new cycle of wasted money and resources, not judging you but that's what needs to happen so you can move on with life.

They are totally the same. Beadnell Polarquilt.

Agree, that looks matronly to me. I'd keep the green.

Yes, both have tags. I have about another 30 jackets so I never used these. I also had black one but sold it years ago.

My wardrobe is full of unworn clothes I bought years ago.. ( I think it’s connected to me childhood when I had no many nice clothes, now compensated for it) f
From Time to time I sell lots only to buy more… endless circle..

Lentilweaver · 19/02/2025 09:42

Sell both and don't buy any more.

LunaNorth · 19/02/2025 09:43

Green.

Phase2 · 19/02/2025 09:44

Sell clothes and pay for CBT.
I think that will make you happier in the long run.

The thing is do want to wear them, but with my job I need to have a thicker coat which I have and I usually use car or if I go out it’s too cold or warm for this one..

TalkingAboutaWolf · 19/02/2025 09:45

Sell both. Unless you're 70+. If so, keep the khaki. These are granny jackets.

Lentilweaver · 19/02/2025 09:46

30 jackets is enough really for all weathers.

Agree with this. I have similar tendencies, OP.
To answer your question though, when you try them on and look in the mirror, is your eye drawn to the jacket or to the overall picture of you wearing it? If the former, I'd say you probably don't really want that one or it doesn't suit you. However nice an item is, if I focus on it rather than on me wearing it, it usually means it's not for me. I may not have explained that very well, but it's something I read long ago and find it holds true for me.

AllFours · 19/02/2025 09:52

Sell them both.

Onelifeonly · 19/02/2025 09:52

Green if you must. But if you haven't worn either in two years, they either don't suit you, suit your life style or have any use in your day to day life. Yes, I know you have a problem, but with 30 other jackets, you don't need these.
