I have both these Barbour jackets, both bought few years back but still brand new with tags.
( hoarding shopaholic, please don’t judge)
I need to downsize and will keep only one.
I sort of like both, hence I got them.
Which one to keep?
Which one looks more ,,cooler,,?
Khaki or burgundy?

The thing is do want to wear them, but with my job I need to have a thicker coat which I have and I usually use car or if I go out it’s too cold or warm for this one..

There's a huge difference between wanting to wear something and actually wearing something. Be honest with yourself, you are never going to wear either colour - you even say as much in your own post. If you'd have wanted to wear either one, you'd have found a reason to do so long ago.

To be frank, it's not even a nice jacket. Sell both.

If you've had them years and they both still have tags on and are unworn, why are you keeping either of them?

This was my first thought too. You obviously didn't like them enough, or they haven't fitted your style, for you to wear them before, so why do you think you'll start wearing one of them now?

I love the style, as I had I had black same one before I used well I and I loved that so I got very cheaply these two in different colours. Just never got to wear them..as have other coats..
I do like these both colours, hence I bought them just want to downsize so was thinking to get rid of one as money tight atm..
I said I don’t want to be judged or even investigated why I bought them, why I haven’t worn them.
I simply bought them as I had black one before and I liked them and these were bargain literally at that time.

Sell them both, they are unused clutter in your wardrobe.

Unless your downsize will change your life sufficiently to make them useful.

Bagssholaholic · 19/02/2025 10:28

I like the green khaki jacket as I have the very same.
It is actually a nice and stylish jacket and I do get compliments and also I am thinking to purchase another maybe in navy later on.
I don’t understand what these posts are about - the OP asked a simple question to see what colour to keep in order to sell one.
She didn’t ask for judgement about her mental state or why she owns clothing yet unworn. JMHO

If you're keeping one, keep the green. The burgundy feels a bit old fashioned and the green is more classic.

happytobemrsg · 19/02/2025 10:43

Keep the khaki!

This is what I think too, the green one is classic. The burgundy is a bit darker and looks more old fashioned but still pretty..thank you.

Personally I like the khaki best but that's because it would suit my colouring.

RuthW · 19/02/2025 12:18

Unless you need them for dog walking, then neither.

If you do dog walk, maybe keep one in the car.

Gymbunny2025 · 19/02/2025 12:23

Personally I'd wear the burgundy over the green as it would suit my colouring better. But if you don't wear them then definitely sell!!!

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/02/2025 12:26

I wear both of those colours. I think if I could only keep one I would keep the green one as I’d get more use out of that in that style - the green is more in keeping with the style of jacket just imo.

BuntyBeaufort · 19/02/2025 12:39

You are Trinny Woodall and I claim my five pounds

isthismylifenow · 19/02/2025 12:39

If you loved either of them that much, you will have worn at least one of them.

I would sell both. You have managed so far without wearing either.

Fellow jacket hoarder. I am having a cull, but it is not easy to take my own advice.

DemBonesDemBones · 20/02/2025 20:53

Burgundy looks like an old lady coat, definitely keep the khaki.

pictoosh · 20/02/2025 21:01

Sell both, it's a horrible jacket (sorry), frumpy yet...shiny. No.

hmmm I do have the same opinion about the burgundy, I never was too sure about it, quite liked the green one..
I think I will get rid of the burgundy.. I already used the green one today and had a cashier in supermarket complimented on it, though she was about 60 yrs old well there is my answer haha.

Keep the green one. I love burgundy (one of my favourite colours) but it's not the best colour for that style.

I've got this coat in navy and really love it, it's so easy to wear.

If you want to wear it, leave it right by the door/in the hallway and wear it as the weather warms up this spring. Find a scarf (in your wardrobe, not a new one!) that goes nicely and just make an effort to wear it daily until it becomes part of your wardrobe.

Thank you, this style is sort of probably what it is that sort of stalls me to wear it I wonder if it’s for the large lower pockets makes it looked a bit aged style?
I had black one before and it felt ok as it didn’t show the detailing that much.
its a nice coat, I also had the non quilted style ( wax one) and I like that one a lot..
