What coat/jacket to wear with this dress

I have a wedding coming up and I have this dress. I don’t usually wear dresses and struggle with accessorising them. It is a winter wedding and will need something warm for travelling between the church and the venue. What sort of coat/jacket/cover up of some kind would look best with this kind of dress?

A lot of us really have no social life, yes. We're skint, working, being parents, just trying to survive. Read the OP and understand the brief. Ffs.

If you (general you) are so broke why spend £20 on something you'll never wear again? What a waste of money. It's quite possible to buy something which you can wear to a wedding just because it's new and get plenty of wear afterwards.

These aren't glammed up but you (general you) could wear any of these to a wedding and nobody would think anything of it. After that they are wearable, washable every day dresses. You don't need any special occasion to wear them beyond leaving the house.

Op says she doesn't wear dresses full stop.

We were at a wedding last week. Daughters dress was £10.50 in the boohoo sale. Will she wear it again, probably not as its a bit too dressy for holiday clothes. But she's got it if she needs something more formal.again. like the Op will have.

It was just a general suggestion.

I'm sure there are trousers, trouser suits and jumpsuits in the same ballpark. The Tu trouser suit is under £20.

It's a fabulous dress! It needs a smart winter coat for the church. Enjoy yourself turning heads at the reception x

A smart, long, fitted wool coat with a smart scarf what with it being cold..

I prefer the burgundy dress. More versatile than the blue. Easier to find a coat to go with the burgundy too.

there is no dress code or instructions as to whether the wedding is going to be extremely formal as such. My problem is I’m very short so flowy dresses are a no go as I look like I’m drowning when I wear them. It’s a relatively young persons wedding in terms of the brides 24 and the majority of her friends who are attending are in their early twenties not that that really makes a difference. My friend is wearing something similar but satan material and deep neckline instead of off the shoulder

Satan material!
