To have just bought a tiered floral dress? 😬

I've only gone and bought it! A 1. maxi 2. tiered 3. floral dress. At least it doesn't have puff sleeves.

What can I say? It caught my eye and it fits well. But we all know those trends are well and truly done.

Honest question, would you have bought such an dress at this point in time?

Not tiered, no. The rest I'm OK with.
Can we see it? 😂

Spurber · 02/02/2025 14:56

Don't see why not

Lighterlilly · 02/02/2025 14:57

No, I prefer slim silhouettes in muted colours, I don’t like patterns. So not for me but think some others can look lovely in them,

Overtheatlantic · 02/02/2025 14:57

I will disgrace myself and ask what’s wrong with tiered. 🥹

MorrisZapp · 02/02/2025 14:57

Sounds lovely, loads of places are doing tiered dresses. It's a classic style for a reason.

TicklishRubyCritic · 02/02/2025 14:59

Don’t worry about trends- it’s whether you feel nice in it that matters

Iloveeverycat · 02/02/2025 14:59

Yes most of my dresses are like this and I love them have been wearing them for years.

Joining in 😔

Is it nice on you? Do you know where are you going to wear it?
If yes on both questions you’ve done a right thing.

Lighterlilly · 02/02/2025 15:07

Where will you wear it, is it for holidays? If you love it and feel confident in it that’s what will make it look good. It doesn’t matter if it’s on trend or not, we should wear what suits us, not what is in fashion.

I just got this one from Reiss, which I’m guessing you wouldn’t wear and think is drab , so we are polar opposites style wise, I’m sure mine also isn’t on trend, but I love it. Great for work and also dresses down with some trainers.

I like the description in the op
but I don’t like the dress itself I’m afraid

It peaked a few years ago, I'm not sure when, especially floral + tiered.

TicklishRubyCritic · 02/02/2025 15:08

I wouldn’t describe that as a maxi dress

I guess it depends on how tall you are.

To be fair it does have a tier.,

I think it's the angle of the photo, either that or I have the wrong idea of what is a maxi dress:

Oh well, it was in an animal charity shop so there's that.

I'm much too old to worry about trends -thank goodness! I love a floral dress of any sort, in fact two thirds of my wardrobe is floral tops etc. I find a lot of "in" stuff very drab. As long as it makes you happy go for it!

MrsJHernandez · 02/02/2025 15:40

No, I don't like tiered. Makes you look bigger than you are, and I feel like they look like a granny's toilet roll cover 🤣

246to126 · 02/02/2025 15:42

It's awful

Garlicworth · 02/02/2025 15:46

You bought it in a charity shop ✔
You like it ✔
Floral dresses haven't gone anywhere yet! For one thing, everybody's got a huge pile of them now and will carry on wearing them for at least another year.
They're still turning up in the shops ✔
Yep, wear it.

amoreoamicizia · 02/02/2025 15:51

I guess I could always cut off the tier and sew a new hem.

OP posts:
JollyViper · 02/02/2025 15:53

Not a fan of the look, it reminds me of the valance /skirts on bedding.
But if we all liked the same thing it would be boring

I wouldn’t, honestly with a light tan and a pair of flat nude sandals it will look lovely in the summer. Be confident. Be yourself. Don’t shorten it, it will look weird. We all have different styles. It’s pretty colours.

I also got this in navy in the sales, 28 quid. I know a lot of people won’t like it, high neck, long, drab to some, but I also know I will wear it a lot in the summer, at home, out with friends, even down the supermarket

wear what makes you feel good. Our styles are very different, neither something others would love, who cares.
