Spin-off thread- share your supermarket fabulous finds

The jeans thread has raised the question of other fabulous bargains in supermarket clothing lines so I wondered if anyone would like to share theirs?

I have these now but not sure whether to return. For context, I have been stalking New Balance trainers at around the £20 mark on Vinted, but the jumper is a piece of lovely frippery that I absolutely don’t need- but it feels lovely on! Should I keep them or return them? I never usually wear leopard print, ever.

I love the jumper, might have to get one myself!

HollyGolightly4 · 30/01/2025 06:48

I love the jumper too!

Colddayhotcuppa · 30/01/2025 13:49

Love the olive oil body butter from Tesco

Lentilweaver · 30/01/2025 14:06

Every year Tu does some cotton corduroy dresses which I love. They look way more expensive than they are.

Garlicworth · 30/01/2025 17:20

KEEP! The shoes will make you smile whenever you catch sight of your feet (if you're wearing these - I have no clue whether your actual feel make you smile or not).

The jumper's a bit take-or-leave for me, but it's quite fetching and inexpensive.

Keep!

Yes! My winter staple for work!

Do you have a link to the trainers please? They’re lovely!

BishyBarnyBee · 30/01/2025 21:10

So many posters singing the praises of Tu. I always imagine the Sainsbury's marketing team sitting in an office writing breathlessly excited replies to each other.

although, online they also have some fabby red ones which I didn’t see in the shop, but would probably have bought instead if I had!

I’ve just picked up the dark denim barrel leg jeans , the only size left online of any of the many combos was a 10R, I would say I’m more a 12R just now , but reviews said to size down .
really lovely and feel like I’m going to get good wear out of them.

I love animal print ( leopard not zebra )

I saw some leopard pumps in Tu - the ballet pumps would kill my feet but these might work ?

I was looking at these. Got the trainers instead but those are really nice!

Keep the shoes! Love them!

So just leopard print then 😆

boxyboxs · 31/01/2025 06:55

I don't love the trainers, think the beige toe looks off but the ballerinas are cute. Leopard jumper is quite nice too.

No, I could be persuaded by ocelot or ponyskin ( fake obvs ) Grin

I have an M&S long cotton shift dress that is dark ginger with black , so tiger print ( but much darker than your average tiger )

I’m wearing the trainers today- so comfy- and you’re right, they make me feel happy when I glance down and see them 😊

I would group ocelot with leopard. Ponyskin is a fabric and doesn't have to have a print. It's also often just calf leather as opposed to real pony. I'll give you tiger, maybe you're a big cat print lover!
Personally I love zebra. Never been attracted to cow print though and undecided re giraffe. Snakeskin on accessories but don't like snake print clothes.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/01/2025 09:03

I like the skewbald/piebald pattern of a horse but I don't know if it would work on a smallish item like shoes .

This horse (in the film Water For Elephants) is perfect

that's beautiful but I think it needs a big surface area

YourChirpyFatball · 31/01/2025 10:17

I absolutely love Tu for clothing. I have shift style dresses purchased for £3.00 in their sale. That was in 2018 and I still wear them, especially through the winter. Most of my non charity shop clothes come from there. Plus they sell really nice footwear that lasts.

lurkingfromhome · 31/01/2025 10:38

My best EVER purchase was a Tu dress that cost £2 in the sale and was so stylish it could have cost 100 times more. It was a black shift, slightly textured fabric, elbow-length sleeves, straight neck and looked nothing much on the hanger, but it was incredibly well-cut and a million miles away from the shapeless dresses I often buy that do nothing for me. I wore that dress to death.

HelloClouds · 31/01/2025 12:11

I always used to buy the Tu men's joggers for my autistic son, who can only wear very soft clothes. They were much better quality than the M&S ones and half the price!

Bananajam · 31/01/2025 19:34

My green velvet suit arrived today from Tu, the jacket is a 12 and the trousers are 10L as that's what was left in the sale but for £26 all in, I can get the trousers taken up and it will be absolutely perfect and looks way more expensive! Thanks to whoever posted the original link 😎

Bought a pair of these this afternoon, mentioned on the jeans thread
