Lisa Eldridge - what's good, what's not so good?

I've got a velvet lipstick and now I'm so intrigued by this brand. It's like charlotte tilbury used to feel back in the day. The lipstick formula is DELICIOUS. What else is good? Anything I should avoid?

It's all pretty great, my standouts are the skin tint and the lip products. The sculpting lipliner was kind of sold to me on the spot at the counter and I didn't think much of it until I started using it and now I can't be without it.

I don't find myself using the lip gloss/oil thingies much as they're just a little too pigmented to be an easy apply thing.

Only thing I've heard mixed things about is the foundation (skin type dependent) and the eye pencils (just not it about sums it up I think). I think there were also complaints about the eye shadows, not so much the quality of them but more the range of colors available.

I got lipstick in the Space NK advent calendar and it is my favourite ever lipstick. It’s the Lucient in painter.y. It glides on and feels beautiful on. Plus it wears really well. Really tempted to spurge on the refillable one with some money I got for Christmas.

Britpopbaby · 07/01/2025 18:48

I have the skin tint which I love and also bought a lipstick last week which is, imo, a very nice matt lipstick in terms of not feeling dry.

TheLongRider · 07/01/2025 18:50

I like the eye pencils, the Victoria Beckham pencils irritate my eyes and the Lisa Eldridge pencils don't. I have the eye lurex eyeshadow and I don't rate it, the glitter particles irritate my eyes, but I love the matte liquid eyeshadows. They stay all day and give a great base colour that's easily buildable. A tiny bit goes a long way. Her lipsticks are some of the best I've ever tried particularly the velvet matte. The velveteen lipsticks are more drying.

wrenhair · 07/01/2025 18:50

The skin tint is lovely, feels so nice on the skin. She's just released a concealer and I ordered one so will let you know op.

Lipsticks wise I like the formula of the new rouge experience, it's like lip balm but not slippy.

I've tried the eyeliner, it's nice but not amazing but I'd buy it over others as it's cruelty free and nice enough.

I want to try the mascara but I'm so picky with mascara and have about 5 unused, what a waste. Has anyone tried it?

Oh yes those new matte eyeshadows are really nice!

I have very sensitive eyes and also can't wear the VB pencils so I'm interested in the liquid matte eyeshadows!

The liquid lurex eyeshadows are divine. If you like rose gold, Angelica is lovely. Also recommend Zora( brown) and Emily ( Pake gold)

The Skin Tint is amazing

MabelMoo23 · 07/01/2025 20:39

I use a lot of LE and I absolutely love it!!!

lipsticks are fab, both the velvets and also the new baume embrace - it’s a balm type lipstick. I also love the shape and sculpt lipliner.

I have the lurex eye shadow in Emily (pale gold) and also the matte one called Ione (cool toned) love them both.

I use skin tint and foundation - skin tint for lighter days. The foundation I need to add a tiny drop of skin tint to give it a bit more slip but perfect colour. Skin tint could have a touch more coverage but I just add a tiny drop of foundation and again it’s perfect.

I’ve got an eye pencil - but I do prefer VB liners so I stick with them. I’ve just ordered the new pin point concealer today.

so I am a massive fan of LE and use a lot of her products (as you can tell) and apart from a couple of tweaks it suits me perfectly.

if you message on Instagram, the LE customer service is excellent. My only gripe is living in the Midlands the only stockist is Space NK in Leamington and it’s miles away but that’s it

Intrigued. Is the skin tint basically a tinted moisturiser/BB cream?

No it's a thinner consistency, slightly watery but with more body. Like a lightweight oil but not oily but it glides on with the same smoothness. If any of that makes sense, it just melts into the skin and tints it just enough to even out skin tone (provided you're not needing a lot of coverage) and is then pretty much undetectable.

Please report back on the new concealer whoever has bought some so I can chuck those in my basket full of Lisa Eldridge things which is reminding me of my main LE gripe, things are out of stock a lot.

I haven't seen anyone mention the liquid highlighters yet, I really enjoy those, they give a bit of lift and life to the face somehow without glaring insanely. You really need to go in and try though. I ended up with a completely different colour than I thought I'd need.

MrsPositivity1 · 07/01/2025 21:14

Skin luxe is amazing

MabelMoo23 · 07/01/2025 22:13

I agree, things do go out of stock regularly and take a while to be restocked. When the Ione liquid eyeshadow came out it was the only “cool” toned one and I grabbed one straight away as knew it would sell out and sure enough it did.

crowgift · 07/01/2025 22:32

I have been wondering about the skin tint and how it compares to the LE foundation?
I am looking for the most blurring foundation I can find (if anyone knows what might fit the bill) that won't settle into lines (I don't need very high coverage, but I do have texture and wrinkles).

Just looking at how to choose correct skin tint shade in its 🤯 - not sure I understand it! Anyone help me?

Personally I'll be going in store to get matched. Too many options to get wring!

There aren't many cool toned lipsticks either that I can see might be looking in the wrong place

I really like everything I've bought - Velvet lipsticks, skin tint, foundation, Vega eyeshadow palette, foundation brush, highlighter - with the possible exception of the Liquid Lurex, which didn't wear well on my eyelids. It all feels very thoughtful and considered, although it does lean towards quite a specific palette; the new refillable lipstick comes in 8 shades, 5 of which are virtually indistinguishable to the untrained eye.

NewMe2024 · 08/01/2025 17:58

I have several lipsticks and they are just lovely, especially the new ‘baume’ something ones. I also have a liquid eye shadow that is matte - can’t think what it’s called - and it’s a great base / neutral colour with good staying power and that doesn’t crease at all.

I would love to buy the skin tint, new concealer pencil and some of the glittery eye colours, but sadly my purse says no.

Edited

I think there are. I need warm tones and there are lots that don’t work for me. I think the range is quite deliberately balanced across the two.

Podcastqueen · 08/01/2025 18:02

the Baume Embrace lipstick is wonderful, epanoui is my favourite it’s more like a sleek tinted lip balm than a heavy lip colour

Yup, really is seamless!

TheOGCCL · 08/01/2025 18:48

I rate the liquid eyeshadow but again there isn't much variety between the shades and some lighter ones would be good for us pale ones.
