This thread makes me curious as it's always trending. Do people actually read this or do they just add their bit to it? How much info do you get with someone saying black t shirt from vinted 3 pounds? Is it a value thread? There used to be one where people put photos up - at least you could see something.

A bit of both. For me it makes me realise what I wear a lot of and what I don’t and the value of a piece be it £2.50 or £25.00 dependent on the amount of times I wear it. My M&S palazzo jeans for example have a number of mentions which means the £45 I have spent on them shows that they are value for money.

I'm not wearing anything as I'm in the bath.

I'm going to wear a charity shop denim shirt with muted pink and green embroidery on the sleeves (about £5), open over an olive green and white stripy 3/4 length sleeved t-shirt (about £10 in TKMaxx), charity shop olive green jeans (about £5) rolled up to capri length, blue and green socks from a multipack and white hi-top trainers (about £40 in TKMaxx).

Comefromaway · 26/06/2025 10:20

I do a bit of both too. My outfit do tend to get a bit repetitive as I tend to wear the same things over and over but in slightly different combinations. For example the navy Jaeger trousers i am wearing today feature a LOT. I thought they were a real splurge when I bought them from an outlet store about 10 years ago, but I wear them constantly.

So.....

Blue striped Gant Shirt £78
Jaeger trousers £70 ish
Loewe belt £350
Pavers ballet flats £20
Mulberry Islington bag £890
Missoma gold necklace £120
Monica Vinader gold earrings £150

FurForksSake · 26/06/2025 10:23

@Comefromawayand your Loewe belt has paid for itself!

Here is a terrible photo of my terrible outfit. Under the hoodie is a ribbed T-shirt, it is the same colour as the trousers with stripes across it. Unintentionally matching, so I can’t take the jumper off and leave the house. Luckily I’m not leaving the house.

I have to admit I do LOVE my Loewe belt. It's reversible so is even more versatile. I'm wearing the brown side today with my navy trousers. I wear the black side with black trousers, black jeans and it also goes with various dresses as it tucks inside itself.

Comefromaway · 26/06/2025 10:30

I'm on holiday! Very cheap and cheerful today.

Next boy shorts, £24
Plain black vest, primark £3
Tan Saltwater sandals, brand new £20 from Vinted (they are amazing, highly recommended)
Denim baseball cap with embroidered lemon, Primark about £8
Straw beach bag TK Maxx £24.99

FurForksSake · 26/06/2025 10:43

I have belt envy!

Comefromaway · 26/06/2025 10:49

Thank-you. It was a birthday present. I love it because it is really good quality leather, the anagram logo is very pretty and most people don't even know it is designer so I can wear it in any situation without feeling it is too much.

Also, dh bought it from Loewe online but when it arrived I realised it was too big. We were going to London anyway so went to the Loewe store to exchange it. Even though it was just an exchange of (for them) a lower cost item the customer service was exceptional and we got a mini bottle of champagne as a gift. More recently the Loewe sales assistant in Selfridges gave me a little notebook even though I didn't buy anything and told him I'd love a bag but it was out of budget for the time being.

An M&S cotton frock from last year £35ish?
Gabor sandals from last year £95.
Coach Tote - ancient £127ish in the sale

Garlicnorth · 26/06/2025 15:05

Oh, @Gettingbysomehow, thanks for asking! Small injury but not healing quickly, as I keep walking on it.

@onehorserace, I do prefer photos or descriptions because I enjoy seeing how people put outfits together. I'm also interested in what people spend!

As @Britpopbaby mentioned, the thread sometimes prompts me to get more use out of a neglected item, maybe wearing it differently.

FurForksSake · 26/06/2025 19:51

Trousers - Asda £18
top - next multipack

would I wear this combo out of the house? No. But with a different coloured top? Yes.

Levis bootcut jeans, worn previously - bought in the sale but I had to pay to get them professionally shortened.
M&S longish linen over the head shirt, £40 in 2023
Clarks Orinoco Cross sandals in white, £75 last year
My daughter said my outfit had 70s vibes so I added some long silver hippyish earrings and a chunky silver (colour) bracelet with turquoise (colour) stones. I've had the earrings since I was a teenager, they were a gift, and the bracelet must be about 20 years old, I think it was from Oasis.

LeftOutInTheRain · 26/06/2025 20:37

This dress from Amazon and it cost £24

Gettingbysomehow · 26/06/2025 21:27

I read it for ideas. I sometimes get stuck for ideas about what to put with what and like to hear about new brands.

onehorserace · 27/06/2025 07:39

You see photos make this immediately more interesting .

Britpopbaby · 27/06/2025 08:09

River Island chambray jacket £28
M&S palazzo jeans £45
Converse £45
New Look Blouse around £6.99
Levis denim bag around £5 charity shop

Teal Club Monaco fitted top £20 (sale buy)
Black Uniqglo linen trousers £20
Black cardigan (about 8-10 years old from Debenhams
Black Gucci loafers £585
gold locket, gold & cubic zirconia studs (both presents) & Citizen watch £250

Comefromaway · 27/06/2025 09:29

The cardigan was a last minute addition as it was cold when I left the house. It’s now been discarded

RosesAndHellebores · 27/06/2025 09:37

Monsoon dress probably about £60/70 about five years old
Clarkes knock off birkies £35
WFH today
Jewellery: wedding, eternity, engagement, watch, pearl studs - never changes - about £12k

Comefromaway · 27/06/2025 09:39

I've thought about upgrading some of my jewellery now I can afford it. We got engaged aged 18 and my engagement ring was £100 from Ratners! But it doesn;t feel right. My wedding ring was a little more expensive but still only in the hundreds.

FurForksSake · 27/06/2025 09:53

Oversized cricket jumper - next £38
active leggings - next £28ish

i was aiming to feel a bit Claudia winkleman. I love her style. I fear the jumper has got a bit too oversized as I’ve lost weight. But, not leaving the house so it’s fine.

ring and engagement ring, £6k. I’ve only been able to wear them again for a few months.

when I got married the first time around my ring cost about £70, but I loved it. I don’t think I’d have changed it if the marriage had lasted. I’d have maybe got a fabulous eternity ring. I’ve not got one of those, I have other expensive things instead 😆

What are you wearing and how much did it cost thread 2!
Comefromaway · 27/06/2025 13:16

I really like that jumper
