Got my hair done for the first time in 5 years. She couldn't get the red to stick so I now have some shitty done highlights.

So disappointed, looks no different to my current hair.

Keep heat away from your hair for the foreseeable. Seriously. She’s fried your hair. There’s a lot of breakage and it it looks so dry. Get Olaplex and/or K18 and I recommend Aveda Damage Repair shampoo and conditioner for regular use. Get a hair oil on the ends. Don’t allow any more colour/toner and heat.

As others have said, your natural auburn is beautiful and I'm sorry the hairdresser treated it like that. If this was me I'd look for a semi permanent box dye as close to the natural colour as possible, then concentrate on improving the condition with masks etc. Your natural colour will grow in faster than you think. You could also cut an inch or two off the ends to help the condition.

@Mawface
Your hair hasn't been bleached light enough to be able to turn the pale peach colour in your inspo pic.

Your hair would need to be a level 10 blonde - the colour of a peeled banana, you might possibly get away with a level 9, if it gets toned to a silver blond and then the peach toner is then put on top of it.

Red hair can be hard to lift (meaning lighten with bleach) as red tones are what keeps it looking brassy.

I am.assuming your hairdresser bleached your hair and it turned a bright yellow/orange colour and then she tried to tone it with a blue/purple toner.

Using the colour wheel orange and blue make greeny/brown which is where your hair is now.

She is correct in saying come back in a month.
Your hair would be very compromised if she were to bleach it again before then (break off or fall out)
She probably covered the bright orange yellow hair last appointment so your hair looked better than walking about with really brassy hair.

You need another round of bleach to get light enough to be able to tone to the pale apricot peach colour you want to be. The bleach will get rid of the khaki colour and shoukd take you to a level 9/10 and enable you to have the hair of your dreams.

In the meantime hide it in a bun, or do heatless curls....curls hide a weird colour better than straight hair and wait for your next appointment.

I’m not convinced the pics are all the op !!
Hairdresser here !!
for u to have been auburn and Come out with the above it’s near enough impossible in one sitting !
The pics after hairdresser looks like u have mousy hair and it had a bad bleach job !
The auburn pic looks like a complete different body frame and the hair type is completely different !
Maybe I’m wrong but that’s my observation

If I had the right colouring, I would be taking a photo of your natural hair to the salon and begging them to make me look like you!

Was heavily bullied my whole childhood for it!

That is terrible, OP. Children are bullied and are also bullies. If it's not hair, it's legs or eyes or lips or height, weight, whatever they can think of.

Don't let those bullies win now that you're an adult, your hair was lovely as it was - and it will be again. Please don't let anybody make you feel less than, again.
