This has been happening to me a lot lately and it never used to in the past. I'm 44.

CaptainKarvol · 01/05/2008 14:47
  1. It's just started. I just look so tired.
choosyfloosy · 01/05/2008 14:48

Around 30. Wrinkles around my eyes suddenly appeared and my teeth sort of yellowed.

Dropdeadfred · 01/05/2008 14:50

35 after having dd3 and all the sleepless nights....

Although when i tellpeople I am getting married and my two elder dd's will be bridesmaids (aged 16 and 14) they are quite good at acting suprised that I am old enough...

The power of makeup!!!

I accidentally saw myself in a mirror in broad daylight and got a terrible shock. It's dim lighting all the way from now on.

suzywong · 01/05/2008 14:51

38
I clearly remember at 37 looking at my neck and smugly thinking "hmm, no chicken strings there"

Now I see myself candidly in photos and think "who the hell is that old hag/drunk who clearly slept on a park bench"

But the young people that I work with tell me I don't look 40.

I will watch this thread with interest as I am starting to get a bit down about it and it's all really downhill from here in terms of looks is it not?

  1. Am 31 soon. I look in the mirror and can't believe I am someone's mum.

nah suzy it's a leapfrog thing we all age in jumps and you just have to wait until your contemporaries jump while you're still stable

also hrt fantastic

my mum looks young for 60 and she's actually 73

pinkblossom · 01/05/2008 14:54

I noticed it a few months ago so somewhere between 34/35. I just look so tired. The touche eclat gets a hammering every morning now.

Around the 32 mark I think - a couple of years ago.

People have stopped being surprised when I tell them my age - when I was in my late 20's I was constantly told I looked younger. Now I am 34 and probably look older. Looks like I've let myself go a bit

Lauriefairycake · 01/05/2008 14:56

I'm 35 and it looks very dehydrated round my eyes now, no matter how much water I drink

That's only in the last couple of years - they used to go away with water and a good nights sleep - sob sob

Celery · 01/05/2008 14:58

Just in the last few weeks actually. Aged 33. It's tough, but I expect I'll get used to it.

TsarChasm · 01/05/2008 15:01

It all went downhill 36+ I think.

I find it harder and harder to paper over the cracks these days. I identify with the 'looking tired' thing. And if I catch sight of myself in a shop window, I look like my mum when she's looking really stern and about to blow her top about something.

I went through a spell of being aware of this and trying to smile a bit more but I just looked like a lunatic walking about so now I just do the tired/moody look. I'm laughing inside though.

Dropdeadfred · 01/05/2008 15:05

Maybe all we need is an MN spa weekend?

getmeouttahere · 01/05/2008 18:17

About 34

OrmIrian · 01/05/2008 18:19

First noticed faint lines in my early 30s but still looked young for my age. But it's started seriously since I was about 42. I hate it. It's got to the point now where I can't pretend it isn't noticeable. I feel ancient

southeastastra · 01/05/2008 18:23

mid 30s i suppose. in broad daylight i hate my big pores. wasn't expecting them

Hobo · 01/05/2008 18:25

35,saggy and baggy.

constancereader · 01/05/2008 18:28

At 28 when I looked in the mirror and realised I weighed ten stone rather than eight stone. I honestly did not see it happening either.
