I need some inspiration!

Are you going all out with a sparkly number or is it a PJ day in your house?

I'm between sparkles and velvet. Undecided ✨✨✨🎄🎄🎄

StormingNorman · 20/12/2024 09:53

MIL has just fucked Christmas plans so I’ll be home alone in pyjamas with a selection box and festive Domino’s.

Hoppinggreen · 20/12/2024 09:59

If we were staying home it would be xmas PJ's (that I hadn't slept in ) but we are going to SIL's.
I want to be comfy so wide legged black velvet trousers and a short sleeved grey cashmere jumper which has some sparkly bits on. Will take some leggings, jumper and wellies for a dog walk later though

Comefromaway · 20/12/2024 09:59

I hate wearing PJ's in the day. I don't feel right.

I will probably wear jeans or a mini skirt and a sparkly jumper or perhaps I might put a red jersey dress on.

mumonthehill · 20/12/2024 10:05

@MsXmasGGMasterTwat that is absolutely my idea of a perfect Christmas day dress!!

A phase eight Becca dress - the one with the silver sequin skirt part (they have loads of options)

Just had a look as it sounded like my thing - I love it! Is the top quite sheer though as it looks it from one of the photos.

GettingStuffed · 20/12/2024 10:36

I'm bringing my velvet t-shirt dress out of retirement.

I'm following a lot of anti overconsumption deinfluencer videos and now I question if I need the item rather than just want. Boring for a board that promotes something new for any occasions.

Starlight1979 · 20/12/2024 10:37

Dog walking stuff in the morning, then change into this dress from Wolf and Badger for daytime festivities with extended family and Xmas meal, then home and into comfy PJs at night to chill on the sofa with DH and the dogs - large glass of wine, cheese and chocolates😍

It is lovely @mumonthehill , the fabric is beautiful and it drapes really nicely. Plus point, no restrictive waistband etc., etc.. I've worn it already and loved it.

I paid full price 😶, but it will join the 'going out' section and I'll wear it for years so never mind.

LeaveALittleNote · 20/12/2024 10:59

I’m going to wear something comfortable and cosy. Baggy jeans and a big wool jumper, probably.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/12/2024 11:04

If it's nice weather, probably walking trousers etc - we'll take a picnic somewhere. DD and her BF are coming to us after Xmas so we'll have our midwinter feasting a few days late.

ParsnipPuree · 20/12/2024 11:06

A bikini. On a cruise!

Fuzzyandwarm · 19/12/2024 22:24

Ha, your SIL would be me. It is weird because the rest of the year I'll happily wear pj bottoms around the house (dressed on top though) but it feels wrong at Christmas, I need to wear something fancy, it's instinctual🫣

Me too! Previously I’ve worn a slinky Bardot velvet dress or a sequin tunic dress with opaque as and platform sparkly shoes that they make me take off indoors but never mind.

This year I’m not at theirs for Christmas Day but will be in satin wide leg trousers and a simple black top with a crossover back.

BellissimoGecko · 20/12/2024 11:11

Littleguggi · 19/12/2024 22:37

Definitely something sparky, if not on Xmas when else can you wear sparkles?!

Exactly!

Monkeybutt1 · 20/12/2024 11:18

I'm hoping this will be delivered today and fit, if so I'll be wearing this. We have all the family coming round but I'm not cooking. If it doesn't fit, jeans and a sparkly gold jumper.

What are you wearing on Christmas Day?

I have a few reliable and much loved party / Christmas / posh dinner clothes that I rotate. I’m with you, not bought new clothes for ages and not for about three years for the dressing-up wardrobe!

jnalderwood · 20/12/2024 11:20

It will be a pajama day for me. And I would be eating a lot of cake!!

Arraminta · 20/12/2024 11:21

First thing in the morning will be posh PJs.

Then we're out for Christmas lunch at a beautiful gastro pub, so want to dress up but not overly glamorous.

Think I'm going to wear a grey, short sleeved, cashmere sweater + black, matte sequin mini skirt + black opaque tights + mid calf black biker boots with silver buckles.

Then it will be back home and back into posh PJs.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 20/12/2024 11:25

I’ll be at my parents house so will be an M&S Autograph tinsel blue jumper and jeggings. I did want to wear something more fitted and might do Christmas Eve/Boxing Day.

Cocolapew · 20/12/2024 11:33

Hollister Livvy extra high waist, wide leg trousers because there's loads of room in them and a sweatshirt with a vintage santa on it.

You were both, obvs x

Arraminta · 20/12/2024 11:35

Sorry wear both x

JiminaSlump · 20/12/2024 11:55

I've got a Yumi green velvet tunic dress. It's nice and loose so it'll be good for eating in Grin And I'll wear something on the bottom half. Tights? Maybe. Or leggings. Or pyjama bottoms. Haven't decided yet.
