I need some inspiration!

Are you going all out with a sparkly number or is it a PJ day in your house?

I live in my pyjamas when not at work but at Christmas I inexplicably feel the need to dress up. I’m wearing an emerald and black wide legged jumpsuit from Anthropologie. But not make up, because I hates it.

UncharteredWaters · 19/12/2024 23:29

@Parker231 Thank you!

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/12/2024 23:39

PJs all the way here. And dog walking gear at various points, lol.

Compromise for me. At home, no visitors and I will be cooking so comfy black joggers and this slightly sparkly blouse that I made this time last year.

I love this have you got a pattern?

SnowFrogJelly · 20/12/2024 00:32

Birthday suit

Lostsadandconfused · 20/12/2024 00:37

We’re going out to lunch, my mother and I are both wearing gold dresses.

SmokeRingsOfMyMind · 20/12/2024 01:15

A silver velvet dress, red boots with a lightning bolt on them, red tartan hairband. I like to dress up!

Imbluedalale · 20/12/2024 01:33

This dress from M&S for Boxing Day as Christmas Day I will be on my own .

Applepoop · 20/12/2024 01:37

Comfortable clothes. Stretchy and very casual. Like pyjamas I suppose, but not, as we’ll be taking the dog out

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 20/12/2024 05:42

Jeans and a jumper. I will be cat hunting by the looks of it (cat is missing, 7 days and counting) so I want comfort on my walks round but also it's my parents for lunch so no need for dressing up.

Blueuggboots · 20/12/2024 06:38

I've got a festive Breton. I wear it every year. It's comfy and it's festive enough.
I hate getting dressed up at Christmas, it's uncomfortable!!

Birthday suit

Me too - I mean it will be my birthday after all!!😂

Happycow · 20/12/2024 06:42

A phase eight Becca dress - the one with the silver sequin skirt part (they have loads of options)

EvenLess · 20/12/2024 06:46

Depends how I'm feeling - having chemo at the moment. It I feel well, a emerald green v-neck jumper dress with black tights and a gold necklace. If I'm not well, white Christmas pyjamas with sparkly snowflakes on. DD4 has a matching pair.

SnoopysHoose · 20/12/2024 06:47

This skirt and jumper from M&S, going to eldest DDs, no cooking for me.

I keep changing my mind, so I've now just ordered some sequin wide leg trousers from Next (apparently they don't itch) and I'm thinking of wearing with a cream jumper I have or perhaps I'll buy the jumper in black? I've got these low heeled bow mules from Zara that I also wore last Christmas, so I know they're comfortable.

Well thanks for that! I just ordered the black and the gold…

It's Catherinette by Cousette. The pattern instructions are all in French which made it extra spicy!

Joggers or jammies. Nothing fancy. Not leaving the house. No guests to cook for. Just cosy at home all day.

DreamSpaceships · 20/12/2024 07:32

I have a very sparkly dress. I’m the SIL getting laughed at while the rest of the family is in normal clothes 😂

I didn’t grow up in a dress up
house (but never pyjamas) but was always envious of people who did dress up and felt everything looked so much more special when people did (and I don’t get out much so not much opportunity to dress up!)

TeamPolin · 20/12/2024 07:41

Jeans, boots and Christmas jumper - we do a winter dog walk followed by a pint in our village pub before we go home. So outdoorsy clothes are a must.

Rocknrollstar · 20/12/2024 07:43

White Christmas T-shirt and sparkly leggings.

Seasidewalker · 20/12/2024 08:16

My sister and I had this discussion yesterday. Traditionally we are PJ's then cheesy Christmas Jumpers & Christmas leggings or the very very cheesy Primark Christmas dress which we share!

She yesterday suggested she might want to wear an actual smart dress! I'm not sure I can cope with the change 🤣

doublec · 20/12/2024 08:22

As I'm having surgery on Monday, I'll be wearing either pjs or a dressing gown, possibly with a pair of fancy socks. Probably not the most helpful of answers, more so as I'd be wearing the same irregardless of anything!

overthinkersanonnymus · 20/12/2024 08:51

Right, I'm going shopping today.

Will report back with my finds!
