Facial fluff and chin hairs

I’m mid 40s and seem to have an increasing amount of one off random chin hairs that are black which I pluck. Also noticing in certain mirrors/lights that I have a lot of side cheek and chin fluff. I dread to think what someone talking to me sees when the sun shines on my face from the wrong angle. Do you see people out there with hairy faces, I’m hoping I’m not very hairy faced and everyone knows but hasnt told me.

always thought best to leave in case but grows back darker and thicker.

but now thinking if should deal with it. What do others do and recommend?

I wax upper lip

I like the fluff. I leave mine well alone. Occasional thick dark hairs in my lip get plucked, but I’m quite fond of my blonde fluffy face.

Passthecake30 · 29/11/2024 20:15

I’ve got a fluffy face, if I look side on in the light I feel like I’m almost sporting a blonde goatie! For the shavers, does it grow back more coarse?

I just don't get where these chin hairs come from. It's like they go - nothing, nothing, not a single sign of a hair, HELLO I AM AN INCH LONG Confused

suburburban · 29/11/2024 20:22

Yes and that horrible sensation when they come through

JoanOgden · 29/11/2024 20:22

I have a handheld twisty epilator which works surprisingly well.

CaveMum · 29/11/2024 20:53

I have PCOS so get lovely dark hairs on my upper lip and if left unattended have eyebrows that make me look like a long lost Gallagher 🤣. Additionally the peach fuzz and the random extra thick black chin hairs- joy.

Threading is the only thing that works for me, I have to go every 3 weeks to keep on top of things.

I have those too! One always comes out in exactly the same spot, just under my jaw line. I know it’s there but it hasn’t broken the surface yet, but as it’s been at least 3 weeks since I last had to pluck the sucker I know when it does break free it’s going to be a ready-made whopper!

GoldenSunflowers · 29/11/2024 20:56

Laser it. It’s so much cheaper nowadays (vs last time I did this years ago). £45 for 3 sessions chin and upper lip. Do it while the hair is still dark (not gone grey or white).

ijustneedaminute24 · 29/11/2024 21:16

I pluck the strongest ones which are also the darkest ones every 1-2 days. The fuzz gets dermaplaned whenever I remember. I looked at my skin in a magnifying mirror the other day and horrifically had a full moustache but blonde. That got zapped.

Why is it my eyebrows won't grow back after a few years of plucking but my face follicles could not give a shit about the torture I put them through and are multiplying by the day?

It's so unfair 😭

OriginalUsername2 · 29/11/2024 21:18

All the youngsters are dermaplaning (aka shaving) so I’m doing that too. I’m hoping for laser hair removal if I can ever save up.

I feel your fluffy pain. I’m a similar age. I was doing my hair removal last night and pulled all my hair tightly back to give it a proper go. I found a mole on my (fluffy) hairline with a tuft of its own hair coming out that I’ve never seen before. I could have made a pin-on fringe with it. Shocking.

alwaysontheloo · 29/11/2024 21:22

Mine is just awful and blonde but I still get brown hairs coming through, I pluck the worst, Lumea when I remember and Jolen bleach it whenever I need to. I work in the cold and whenever its really cold and my skin gets goosebumps my peach fuzz stands up. I'm sure people notice. It's got worse with menopause, and is starting to get me down. I get very self consious. I don't want to shave because I've always had problems with facial hair since I was younger and I know shaving will make my face stubbly.
I've had a Lumea for 5 years and it's pretty much saved my life 😁 But it just does nothing for blonde hair or peach fuzz.

Someone invent something other than a razor or hours of painful expensive electrolysis that permanently gets rid of it please!
You would be a billionaire!

I think there was a special facial attachment a long time ago but I just use the ordinary one as I have no idea where it is.

WhatTheKey · 29/11/2024 21:25

I was going to dermaplane my peach fuzz after hearing a friend wax lyrical about it and how well makeup sits after doing it. But then I noticed when I kissed her goodbye that the stubble was really rough, and it put me off. I think it's one of those things (like shaving legs) that once you've started to do it, it's very difficult to stop because it's not really peach fuzz any more, it's hard hairs cut blunt.

Yes why is that.

I just veet the fluff occasionally

Ha - I tried that recently. Worked okay the first time, the second time I got chemical burns in the area!! I used to react to it on my legs, but that was decades ago and the blurb says it's okay for sensitive skin. Not mine it seems! (and no, I didn't leave it on for too long).

OttersAreMySpiritAnimal · 30/11/2024 10:16

I can honestly say I have never looked at someone and noticed their peach fuzz. Mine is mostly blond, occasionally I think it looks a bit darker on my upper lip and I whip it off with one of those pencil shavers.
Eyebrows sparcer but longer so look constantly untidy. I think I'm going to get eyebrow gel to tame them.

IamChocLover · 30/11/2024 11:27

Hollywood Bronzer dermaplaning for peach fuzz, laser and tweezers for black hairs.
