Sorry to hear this. They are rubbish at CS. I took out a 3 month sub to try when I bought the advent calendar. I wasn't very impressed, the Ciate blush was crumbled in pieces in what I think was the final box I got. I also bought an edit box separately when they sent me a code for a reduction, the code didn't work and despite promising to refund the difference they didn't. It was only £5 but it's the principle.

I don't like that you can't cancel easily. I found the small print that states you have to cancel any auto renews by the 14th of the month it ends. I managed to cancel via their chat service on the 13th.

@IlovePond Yikes! I'm sorry Glossybox CS is being unhelpful. I was sitting here eyeing up the 1 months box option and the Edit black Friday deals, and your post is helping me resist.

My daughter does have the Glossybox AC and has been hinting at a subscription and some of the edits, but zero chance for that at the moment.

The LF one is a bit better for around the same price even though I think they are both owned by The Hut Group now. Both have some meh products especially when you get one of the brands that appears to be created for the purpose of beauty boxes.

I prefer that LF comes in simpler cardboard packaging too, I guess some people will prefer the prettier GB boxes but I didn't like that it felt a bit wasteful to not reuse them but neither did I want a mountain of the boxes in my house.

I took out a discounted annual sub for LF so I'm stuck with that one until next Sep when I'll have to decide whether to keep. There are other bonuses to the LF one such as free postage, discounts and early access to edits on the LF site. I got a £6 subscriber discount on something I bought a few weeks ago. It's not quite the same with GB as there's rarely anything else I want on there that makes the early access etc. worth it.

@LivinInYourBigGlassHouseWithAView I can’t give my full opinion of them on a public forum - but most of my box was missing. Plus they are ignoring - presumably deliberately - my requests to cancel the subscription I didn’t intend to take out in the first place. I have repeatedly told them that this was an error, but they are not responding.

There’s a moral in here for me: Don’t wake up at 2am and start shopping on autopilot and, well, just stop shopping!

@IlovePond I’ve got the November box if you want a photo? I signed up as a present for DD when I got her the calendar and it’s still in the box waiting for Christmas.

Is it a one month sub you took out that auto renews each month or longer? IIRC you can take out 1,3, 6 or 12 months. As it's past the 14th you can't stop December's box but they should cancel it for January.

@Doubleraspberry - that’s so kind of you if you wouldn’t mind posting a pic on here I would appreciate it very much. I quite like Miss Boux, but I am not in the mood to hear her raving about the box when I didn’t get most of it!

On a related note: This ridiculous form I have to fill in makes no sense. I have taken a picture of what was in MY box and sent it to them. Regardless of whether I fill in a three page form, they either believe me and respond appropriately or they choose not to. I can’t prove a negative. Unfortunately I have shredded the address label that might have had a weight on it already. (Typical of DH to leap into shredding action after weeks of inactivity at absolutely the wrong time!)

That’s sounds incredibly annoying, @IlovePond. And none of it is a safeguard against you lying to them because you could easily just leave products out of a photo! This is not a high cost item to sort out and you’d think they’d want to keep a subscriber happy.

Mine was in bubble wrap too. Hopefully yours is fine though. I didn't bother complaining to them as I'd not had great CS previously and knew I was going to cancel.

Maybe I’m missing something! I’ll look on the website. I’ve just been putting them away for DD as they arrive. The box did feel full though.

This will be the picture you're thinking of. It is misleading because in each box you tend to get 3 or 4 products to choose one of. I got the Pomegranate eye serum. The picture gives the impression that's the whole box.

Aha, @OvaHere - that makes sense and even more reason why I shouldn’t order in the middle of the night!!!

I think it’s just one thing missing after all my strop 🙈

I don’t remember getting a choice of product, my order must have defaulted to the Niacinimide product, (which will be going straight in the bin).

In my defence, if GB had bothered to read my message where I listed what I had, they could have put me straight immediately.

Plus the scrub was open, (although, tbf, I didn’t tell them that as I had forgotten about it!)

They should also be responding to my request to cancel. They don’t have my payment details so I don’t know what will happen if they continue to insist on sending me stuff next month.

Re: A/Cs - I am sort of wishing I had bought the Lumene. I resisted buying the Boots Tuesday bargain Lumene items recently, but it’s a brand I really want to try.

On a semi-related note: DSis had JL last year and I was jealous. Asked her today if she’d bought one this year, to which she replied, ‘Not yet, there’s plenty of time.’

When I pointed out it was 1/12 tomorrow, she seemed quite surprised as she was apparently a month behind🙈
