Oh, I like it too. No size 10's in stock. I wonder if I could get away with an 8 if it runs big.

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 24/11/2024 02:26

I wouldn't wear it with more gold, nor with with brown, lest someone mistake you for a Ferrero Rocher.

Bodeganights · 24/11/2024 11:51

Do you think I could wear it to a Feb wedding?

I would probably dress it down with a plain top and trainers, but that’s my answer to everything. The high/low approach generally puts you at the right level of dressed-up for going out now, though, and that skirt will be great for that- very versatile. I know that fashion journos are saying making an effort is back this year, but I’m not seeing the evidence of that yet.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 24/11/2024 13:02

I’d wear it to a February wedding plus that jacket you can wear more times.

I’ve got a few curated bits of metallic/glittery/sequin clothing/shoes which I can pull out for Christmas or nights out. Silver jeans last year (think I need to slim into) were one of my faves, I wore them to pub lunches with a plain grey jumper and black boots. I also have 2 sequin jackets, one bomber and chocolate brown, the other a black sequin blazer. Just pop those over whatever else you’re wearing, instant glam.

dottyaboutstripes · 24/11/2024 13:12

Isn't it really long? I quite fancy following along and treating myself but I'm only 5ft 1

LilyRose88 · 24/11/2024 13:15

Just ordered it too! I am currently a size 14 but hoping to be a size 12 by Christmas.

Thanks, I'm truly shit at dressing, for events, I'm normally to be found in jeans and tshirts.

Sooo I have a beautiful long coat, it goes to just lower than my knees, would that look ridiculous with this long skirt? And then I could maybe get a plain top from next and I'm done. Instead of the blazer? And I really wanted to wear heels, is that going to look stupid too.

For this particular wedding I want to look a million dollars.

newrubylane · 24/11/2024 14:10

I bought something similar last year and I find it so versatile. I even wore it during the day over the summer just with a tank top and flip flops. I like to wear grey with mine, and mixed silver/gold accessories. But you could put, white or black or jewel tones with it really easily. It's basically a neutral. I wore it last christmas with a crushed velvet top in a khaki tone, with a fine charcoal jumper and with a slogan type white t-shirt.

Sounds lovely! I’m praying it fits as I can see me getting a lot of wear out of it. If it all works out I might buy the silver version too. I bet that would look lovely with navy

LemonBeaker · 24/11/2024 16:35

Wear black trousers

LemonBeaker · 24/11/2024 16:36

Love it

Error404pagenotfound · 24/11/2024 17:05

I love this!

Could it be worn with chunky docs and a boxy black crop tshirt for casual drinks do you think?

OneNiftyPoet · 24/11/2024 17:37

I'm interested to find out if people are aware of the problem and just don't give am toss or if there is widespread ignorance of the issue? Even recycled polyester releases plastic pollution every time it is watched. If the mums of this world don't care then no one else will...

This is absolutely the kind of look I would love but which trainers and top would you wear. I never feel I get it quite right!

Definitely. I have quite big boobs so tend to avoid boxy as it actually makes me look like a box given the general petiteness of the situation but I think on other people, that look would be fantastic!

Try the coat with it. I think it could work.

heels would be fine too.

If you’re concerned about how you’ll look just post a pic here or wear it in front of someone who’ll be honest about how you look.

Tattletail · 24/11/2024 18:23

A chunky cream jumper.

Yes, totally aware and doing my best to buy less, buy even better and buy natural.

I'm wearing clothes that are 15 years old, I'm shocked that velvet is no longer cotton and that 'wool' coats have very little wool in them. I bang on about Shein and Temu to colleagues. I'm doing my bit. But I've also bought a sparkly top that will probably last me until I'm too old for parties.

SexAndCakes · 24/11/2024 20:57

I think it looks great with the cropped leather jacket the model has on. That would work well for the work drinks / birthday bash.

I am severely lacking in the boob department so hopefully will work for me! 😂

Thanks Op, ordered!

God, I miss dressing up. I love that but would have to accessorise it with wellies and a waterproof jacket for my current life 🙁

I was thinking this exact thing - but I have been known to wear a sparkly jumper with my wellies…..

I care quite a lot, as it happens, and don’t buy synthetic fabrics unless it’s absolutely unavoidable. I’m not a “mum”, though- maybe try and avoid the lazy stereotypes?
