Thoughts on this bomber jacket?

I feel that the pictures aren't the best, as I can't be sure of the colours, but wondering if this is nice or hideous? Does anyone have it?

Not sure if I'm just feeling nostalgic about the autumnal bomber jacket I had in my early teens Grin

Looks like my Aunty's curtains.....

dephlogisticated · 21/11/2024 09:59

Love it and would buy it for sure. Maybe you won't get much wear from it in winter though? It's gorgeous and it's all about how you'd then style it, go for it!

TheDandyLion · 21/11/2024 10:23

Looks like a fun festival jacket.

Mary28 · 21/11/2024 12:44

I think it's gorgeous!

TheDogBartholomew · 21/11/2024 12:56

It hardly qualifies as a bomber jacket. Bomber jackets are supposed to look a bit hard, like.

chubbybubbyandmrwrinkles · 21/11/2024 14:28

I think its super cute! I love it 😍I'd wear a fairly plain ensemble underneath (probably all black/white) and let the jacket do the talking.

QuestionAir · 21/11/2024 17:21

I’m astounded that Next are charging nearly £70 for it to be honest !

Moveoverdarlin · 21/11/2024 17:23

Not keen.

OuterSpaceCadet · 21/11/2024 17:29

I love it!

It would fit under a warm coat too.

Garlicpest · 21/11/2024 17:30

I want to like it. I'm a sucker for an interesting fabric. But it's wasted on this garment, which doesn't seem to know what it is. "Let's work this amazing cloth into a mundanely nondescript style, so it doesn't scare the shoppers! A plain black revere on the neckline will tone it down", said some designer who should be fired.

mononymous · 21/11/2024 17:47

I don't think Next should call it a bomber jacket. I'd call it a blouson. I'm currently wearing my 3 year old black bomber jacket from Cos and I'd say I look more military police Blush

Flamez · 21/11/2024 17:53

I love it

Gorgeous, will really work for an evening.

Nerd3 · 21/11/2024 21:48

I love it! Great for going out, I'd pair it with a black outfit so the jacket really stands out

EllaPaella · 21/11/2024 22:07

I love it.

LilacLilyBird · 21/11/2024 22:09

Judging from the various comments it's probably best to ask who your age likes it

I wouldn't be as harsh as that! I quite like it.

But I agree about the style being "don't scare the shoppers". There's nothing difficult about it. It's not necessarily an outdoor jacket- stick it on top of just about any trousers/ jeans and a t-shirt or plain dress as an extra layer.

I like it. And own a pair of velvet trousers lol channeling my future self it seems as I am only 40!

Velvet trousers are in this year. Bombers and quilted type jackets were very big last season and still in.

NotbloodyGivingupYet · 21/11/2024 23:02

I'm also getting strong nostalgia from this one - it reminds of one I had when I was 17, it had a Japanese chrysanthemum design on it. Used to wear it with a pair of Oxford bags and platform lace up shoes. Froze my backside off in that getup, but I thought I was the bee's knees 😂

Shadow12345 · 22/11/2024 00:49

No for me.. Looks cheap and tacky!!

notacooldad · 22/11/2024 09:16

I'd wear it with black combats and doc( still a popular combo where I live)
Jeans and a thick white vest
Long jersey black sleeveless dress
Black miniskirt, thick tights and jumper.
Black Wide leg trousers and white shirt.
If you love it it could be versatile.

bringmesunshiiine · 22/11/2024 09:34

It seems to be back in stock, so I have ordered it Smile

Thanks all!

love it! but are they using filters on the photos? They look very sepia; I wonder if it's an accurate representation of its colour? I mean I still love it

bringmesunshiiine · 23/11/2024 18:58

So it really does feel a stretch to call it a jacket. It's really thin, more like two thin layers, and doesn't have a zip.

I do like it though. Colours are a little brighter than the website photos.

Just still undecided if it's worth £70 for it to sit in the wardrobe for the next 5/6 months.
