I’ve fallen in love with this dress but there are no reviews anywhere. Does anyone have it and can you wear a bra with it? It looks like the back is maybe not so low for a back strap, but is it too skimpy round the edges for shoulder straps?

Black Long Sleeve A-Line Penni Midi Dress

So-now so sleek. We love the elegant boat neck that’s balanced by an open scoop back. Plus the close fitting top that falls into a relaxed swishy skirt is a winner for every occasion. We’re wearing ours with Mary Janes. Boat neck Long sleeves Open scoo...

@KirstenBlest when I queried you it was a question , I thought I'd seen it on M&S but clearly if confused it with the sainsburys dress. Thank you for your help in showing me how to make neat links.

Replying to Hoppinggreen. That Tu dress is one of the nicest dresses I've seen on here this week. The fibre content is good too. It's not a million miles from the Japanese brands I linked to which are getting on for 20x's the price !

Edited

I am popping to Sains later today, if its not in there I will order it online

TiramisuThief · 17/11/2024 13:01

I really like those dresses, that Tu one is a great find.

I like the boat neck style but I have a wonky collarbone from an accident so I have to be careful.

weareallcats · 17/11/2024 13:10

I’ve ordered it in brown…I’m hoping a carefully chosen bra may be ok with it!

I am in the process of having a tattoo removed from my back (just looks like a faded mess at the moment), so there is that too, but such a lovely dress.

Catheee · 17/11/2024 14:43

That Tu one is lovely! If the NC one doesn’t work out I will give that a go, thank you!
I will definitely report back. I’ve found a decent strapless bra that might work if shoulder straps won’t. Fingers crossed 🙂

I’ve ordered the Tu one too hoping it’s true to size but reviews are good.

I find nobodys child quite small around the bust if that's helps at all!

Oh I’m glad someone else has found this too! I kept finding myself having to size up several times for some of their dresses to the point the shoulders were halfway down my arms and the waist was all sagging by my hips just to get my boobs in - I don’t even have big boobs just regular ones! I’ve given up hope now with a lot of their styles sadly.

Lotsofpots · 17/11/2024 19:22

I have this dress. I'm an 8-10, smaller on the top half, and an 8 (petite) fits me well. I'm v pleased with it as it's very flattering and comfortable, but it isn't quite as elegant on me as a shorter woman as on the models - but that's pretty standard for me!

Definitely not a dress that I can wear a standard bra with though, but I'm ok with that.

Hoppinggreen · 17/11/2024 20:29

So I tried the Sainsburys one on.
Its nice quality and the high neck isn't actually that high, I do like it and it won't be going back BUT it is higher waisted than I would have liked. I am low waisted to be fair but it is a bit more empire line than those of us with big boobs might choose.
I tried it with a belt and that worked really well, it also has pockets!!!!!
True to size I would say

Tontostitis · 17/11/2024 21:04

I have a couple of Nobody's Chikd dresses and i always order to be collected from M and S then try it on in store and return straight away if i don't like it.

Changeofusernameyetagain · 18/11/2024 00:24

@Wishfives thank you! I found your info re dresses very useful!

Bluevelvetsofa · 18/11/2024 09:12

I’ve had to size up with NC, because of the bust sizing. Many of their summer dresses are the style that seams under the bust and are too snug in the size I usually wear.

That is a lovely dress.

LeJazzHot · 18/11/2024 13:54

It’s really lovely! I do like nobody’s child but I really struggle with their sizing… I’m a size 12 34DD - and there is never enough boob room! But if I size up it often just looks ill fitting.

Ooh do you mind me asking what kind of bra it requires? Is it too low at the back for a normal strapless?

I’m a size 12 and H cup and their Elsa dress is perfect across the bust for me because of the shearing and the square neck line.
I have it in 3 colour ways as live the design so much.
Would thoroughly recommend this

Bumcake · 18/11/2024 16:14

I’m another who’s had her boobs crushed by a NC dress - I feel a bit better about that now I see it’s their MO.

The Tu dress is so nice!

They are cute but the neckline really doesn’t suit me!

I think you need to try taking your own advice. You could have provided that information in your original reply with a more pleasant and helpful delivery.

FagsMagsandBags · 18/11/2024 19:18

@Catheee I only clicked on this thread on the offchance that it was about that dress! I love it too. I'll look forward to hearing back from you. I'm almost definitely going to buy it because I've been looking at it for well over a month and not lost the love yet so in my "this is what you're allowed to buy" brain that means it's okay to do it.

I'm not sure how a bra will work with it but if it doesn't there's always the sort of tit tape that pulls them up! I really hope you love it as much in the flesh as you've loved it online.

pecanpie101 · 18/11/2024 19:20

I clicked the link and all sizes are showing as available.

FagsMagsandBags · 18/11/2024 23:34

I've ordered it! I was going to wait until next week because funds are not the best but there's a 25% discount on everything at the moment so I went for it.
