..how do I politley tell her she needs a one piece and that she MUST NOT wear a bikini.

She is so excited.

Help me save her from looking like an extra on Benidorm. Please.

She can get a bikini so long as she wears a voile kaftan over it at all times

bozza · 27/04/2008 21:10

Maybe compromise with a tankini?

Fimbo · 27/04/2008 21:14

Send her to Bravissimo, let them do the work, whilst you sit back in the waiting area reading mags.

Voila!

I won't humiliate her but a 62 year old should be in a one piece I think.

She'll be needing a nice pair of those thong trousers too !

If she's comfortable wearing a bikini good on her. I wouldn't tell her otherwise, I would allow her to enjoy her body and the sunshine. How many women, decades younger, are obsessing about not having a bikini body??

GOOD FOR HER!

Does she have a good figure? Is the issue her body shape or her age?

WanderingTrolley · 27/04/2008 21:26

Her cruise, her body, her decision.

wow that is wonderful - I really hope she enjooys

Quattrocento · 27/04/2008 21:34

I think you should take her to have her bikini line waxed too

Cammelia · 27/04/2008 21:35

No-one would buy it if it was shown on a genuinely 50 + model.

Remotew · 27/04/2008 21:36

Just about to say look at the over 50 website using models half that age.

Beetroot · 27/04/2008 21:37

gosh what on earth is wrong withher wearing a bikini?

Cammelia · 27/04/2008 21:37

That's ok, its aspirational.

DANCESwithLordPottingtonSmythe · 27/04/2008 21:39

I do think when I see a woman who is dressed too young for her age 'what were you thinking?' - I defy anyone to say they haven't.

I think this is what Dr N is trying to protect her MIL from. I'm guessing that unless she's got fabulous (exceptional) skin as a 62yr old she will look better (and therefore feel better ) in a one piece.

I do love mnet political correctness though, as if we should caution an older lady about what she wears...oh the horror
