Where to buy a good silk shirt?

DieDreiHexen · 29/10/2024 18:12

Since buying an ivory silk satin shirt in The Kooples said, I've decided they are my thing and would love some more. Can afford up to £200.

Has anyone found a lovely silk shirt recently. Preferably, but not necessarily satin. Not black or white (rules out M and S) and no breast pockets. I've considered Boden but I know the quality of their clothes has deteriorated.

Any leads appreciated.

These Cefinn ones are lovely - the blue is beautiful (if you are a size 10 as that is the only size left!)

I also like these Theory ones -

I just got a gorgeous one from Vinted, from Jaegar tags still on (£140) paid £18 - am delighted with myself

DieDreiHexen · 29/10/2024 19:11

I love the Reiss one but have to admit I'm scared I'll dip the feature cuffs in my food!

If you like ruffles there's a beaut in John Lewis at the moment for a keen price.

BigSkies2022 · 29/10/2024 20:49

Everlane? I have one of their silk shirts in burnt sugar - lovely to wear, always gets compliments.

Sezane has some nice-looking shirts, but can't vouch for them from personal experience.

SuffolkBargeWoman · 29/10/2024 20:49

Cefinn are great.
Winser London were the very best but they seem to have gone under

Stowickthevast · 29/10/2024 21:52

Jigsaw ones are good. They do different colours every year.

TheOnlyAletheia · 29/10/2024 21:57

Sézane do a blouse called Chlo most of which are silk.

Ruthietuthie · 29/10/2024 23:34

I have several silk blouses from the Fold. The quality is superb. This is the most recent one I purchased (prices are in US dollars as that's where I am, but you would be on the UK site and the price would be less): https://thefoldlondon.com/product/bowery-blouse-pale-blue-stretch-silk/

Goodness
it's dangerous looking at S&B 😂

these are all so beautiful

does heavy silk need ironing? Does it crease?

semideponent · 29/10/2024 23:44

Knatchbull might be out of the budget but worth a look to benchmark.

Pom Lampson (though chiffon)

With Nothing Underneath carries a tercel line with a silky feel.

Ruthietuthie · 30/10/2024 00:17

@RoundandSad, the heavy-silk doesn't crease much as you wear it, but it would need ironing after a wash (if you can wash it - which would probably be a very gentle hand-wash). I send mine for dry-cleaning.

RoundandSad · 30/10/2024 00:27

Thank you. Good to know it doesn't crease much in wear but good point re dry cleaning too.

EBearhug · 30/10/2024 00:55

My silk all goes through the washing machine. I made sure I had one with a delicate cycle.

LunaNorth · 30/10/2024 00:59

Another vote for Jigsaw. I’ve got a gorgeous green one this year.
