Do you style your hair everyday?

Do you style your hair everyday? If so, what do you do? Do you use products also? I don’t style my hair at all and it looks flat, oily and dull, I know styling products aren’t necessary good for hair but I feel like my hair needs something?!

OP posts:

'style'. LOL 😂

chipsandpeas · 25/10/2024 19:51

style?? my hair is lucky if it gets brushed every day

everywomansshoes · 25/10/2024 19:54

I do yeah, makes me feel better about myself. I'm not sure I'd call it "styled" though 😂
I wash and style it dry with the hairdryer, sometimes will straighten (not always), will sometimes tie a bit up - depends on my mood. It's a chin length straight/blunt bob so if I didn't then it would be dull, lank and pretty grim!

You do you though OP, would you like to do more with it?

Same! I haven't got the patience or inclination to faff about every day.
I do sometimes put it in a ponytail, that's about it.

Sussurations · 25/10/2024 20:00

I wash it, spray heat protector on it, and blow dry it. If I use a brush while blow drying it looks marginally better! That’s about it.

buffyfaithspike · 25/10/2024 20:05

No it's curly so wash and style twice a week

shardlakem · 25/10/2024 20:07

Would a heatless curl work for you?

floorchid · 25/10/2024 20:12

I spend less time on my hair than I do cleaning my teeth.

I have very short, fine, thin hair.
I wash it every morning.
Salt spray - 2 squirts when I get out of the shower.
Hair dryer - 1 minute. Seriously, I don't have much hair.
Tousling powder - 10 seconds in the hall mirror as I'm grabbing my bag and keys and heading to work. Gives it a bit of texture.

GroovyChick87 · 25/10/2024 20:14

Yes I do. I wash and blow dry it every day with a volumising mousse. Occasionally straighten it.

Completelyjo · 25/10/2024 20:14

I wouldn’t say style it every day, I airwrap it around once a week and do a quick touch up at the front maybe every other day.
Brush before bed and in the morning.
No products other than a tiny bit of oil in the ends at the start and end of the week.

Nitgel · 25/10/2024 20:14

Ooh I just got this today it gives my hair oomph https://www.argos.co.uk/product/5819272?clickPR=plp:1:3

GroovyChick87 · 25/10/2024 20:14

It doesn't take me long. I have shoulder hair that is quite fine and it needs a daily wash.

WetBandits · 25/10/2024 20:15

I’ve had the same ponytail since Tuesday 😂😂😂

Just reading this makes my head hurt! I have to take a pony tail out as soon as I get home if I’ve put my hair up.

olympicsrock · 25/10/2024 20:16

I wash and style day 1 . By day 3 and 4 I am on a spray of dry shampoo and brush it through. Volume AND makes the most the the styling effort.

Doggymummar · 25/10/2024 20:20

Now my hair is long, nipple's length, it doesn't need styling it looks great straight from bed. When it was short and mid length I had to wash and blow dry daily. Straighten or curl depending on the day.

JMAngel1 · 25/10/2024 20:23

I have long layered 3a curls so no, not really. My only styling is to pull it out of scrunchie pineapple in the morning, give it an agressive shake at the roots with head tipped over and then run water mixed with conditioner over any curls which look thirsty. Takes 2 minutes and I couldn’t deal with anymore.
A girl at work commented that my hair must be such hard work the other day and I just chuckled to myself 😂

I'm the exact opposite. Can't stand my hair swooshing around my neck at home, so it gets bunged in a scrunchy.
I also can't sleep a wink if it's not up in a bun 😁

SuperGinger · 25/10/2024 20:27

Very greasy hair at the moment so I wash and blow dry everyday, plus I get it cut well so styling is minimal. I avoid products because of the grease issue.

LindorDoubleChoc · 25/10/2024 20:31

No. I wash it every 3 days, apply root lift spray and blast it with the hair dryer upside down. Sometimes I put a big velcro roller in my fringe if I cba.

JC03745 · 25/10/2024 20:36

Style/brushing daily 😂

No, I don't! I WFH and am only on camera once a fortnight. I also have very thick, wavy hair, so daily brushing would make it look dreadful.

When I did work in a senior management position on site, I used to have a wash/blow dry in my lunch break at a local salon. That kept it looking good for corporate meetings etc the rest of the week.

OP- is the flat, oily hair new? Are you peri? Any lifestyle changes or deficiencies which would be causing it?

AllTheWatersTurnedToClouds · 25/10/2024 20:41

yes, it's short so needs washing and styling every day or i look like Worzel Gummage.

Takes very little time though. Bit of mousse, 1 min with hairdryer, wax and hairspray. It's got no business moving about Grin

LouH5 · 25/10/2024 20:54

I wash of an evening and sleep with heartless curlers in, so it’s fresh and curly the next day, don’t brush or touch it. Second day I brush it and the curls go much softer and it feels like it has volume. Third day it starts to get greasy on top so spray some dry shampoo, backcomb a bit and clip my fringe back. Fourth day, whack it in a high pony/bun. Then the process starts again- wash twice a week!

TravellingT · 25/10/2024 21:00

Even if it's only going up into a bun I use products, brush it, comb my fringe etc. Fringe needs straightening every day, hair gets washed every day and then blow dried with various moisturising products and brushed well.

Most days I do half up, half down. Either half as a pony tail, in a barette or in a neat bun.

I've mastered a neat french pleat only using a few grips, that make me look put together even when I'm not.

Hair done every day, makeup on and I never leave the house in something I wouldn't want to see the queen/my ex/my boss in. Even if I'm just going to the corner shop!

Hahaha, I have absolutely no business having hair as long as I do because I wear it down about 4 times a year 😂😂😂
