Do you style your hair everyday?

Do you style your hair everyday? If so, what do you do? Do you use products also? I don’t style my hair at all and it looks flat, oily and dull, I know styling products aren’t necessary good for hair but I feel like my hair needs something?!

I mostly do ponytail, bun (low or high), half up/ half down, some vague twist things. I actually style less than monthly.

I wouldn’t say style it every day, I airwrap it around once a week and do a quick touch up at the front maybe every other day.
Brush before bed and in the morning.
No products other than a tiny bit of oil in the ends at the start and end of the week.

I have seen references to airwrapping and products that say they do it, but they are so different. I don't understand what they mean. What is air wrapping?

What have you seen that makes it all seem different?
I’ve never seen it referred to as anything other than then Dyson air wrap or the Shark equivalent. It’s essentially a big bouncy blow dry!

Wand things with lots of different attachments. Which of these is airwrapping?

An air wrap is a piece of equipment I think

I’ve had the same ponytail since Tuesday 😂😂😂

which Tuesday?

mdinbc · 25/10/2024 22:35

I have thick wavy hair, just above shoulder length. Wash and dried with diffuser and curl cream 3 times a week, The other days I will just brush it, and sometimes give it an upside-down scrunch with wet hands to give it a bit of body.

TheFormidableMrsC · 25/10/2024 23:06

I wash it about twice a week. Put some hair oil on inbetween. I use a silk pillowcase that makes a huge difference. In the morning I do a quick blow with the hairdryer and use straighteners on my fringe. I've got a heavily layered choppy cut. To be fair it's normally in a messy bun but I wouldn't say I style it unless I really need to.

Pick one, you’re probably correct Grin

JVX · 25/10/2024 23:55

Olaplex day 1 and blow dry and straighten. By day 3/4 hit the roots with oribe gold lust dry shampoo brushing it through to bring back the volume and refresh my look. It really helps extend and make the most of the initial effort. Looks the part and minimal upkeep. Repeat every 5 days 👱🏻‍♀️

ForGreyKoala · 26/10/2024 03:05

No. I have short hair, I do nothing to it at all other than wash and condition it once a week. I don't brush or comb it.

merrymelodies · 26/10/2024 03:12

Day one - wash & blow dry
Day two - set in heated rollers
Day three - set in heated rollers and blast roots with dry shampoo

Edingril · 26/10/2024 03:28

Well I brush and tie it back does that count?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 26/10/2024 11:05

Yes. I have a short blunt bob with a fringe and an undercut. Wash in the shower, blow dry with a blob of Aveda Confixor and a paddle brush, spray of heat protector, and run the straighteners through. Takes five minutes to dry/style. I look like the mad professor after I have slept on it.

LoafofSellotape · 26/10/2024 12:24

Wash and blow every 2/3 days and in-between use the Revlon One Step.

RosesAndHellebores · 26/10/2024 13:17

Yes and one of the joys of being post menopause is only having to wash it twice a week.

Wash days: shampoo, condition, blow dry.

Between days, hot brush for volume and a bit of curl/flick.

Hairspray every day - takes about 5/6 minutes.

DustyMaiden · 26/10/2024 13:26

When I worked? I did my hair every day, Now I twirl it into a bun and stick a paint brush through it,

This pretty much me too. I've washed and blow dried my hair every day since i was teen and i am in my 60s now. My hair is in excellent condition but i do get it cut regularly.

I honestly don’t really understand what you are asking. A Dyson air wrap is air wrapping, a curling want isn’t.

BibbityBobbityToo · 26/10/2024 14:00

Does a scraped back ponytail count?

Parker231 · 26/10/2024 14:42

Wash twice a week, leave to air dry (it’s very curly) - stick in a messy bun - easy life!

hopeishere · 26/10/2024 15:00

No. I have thick hair. When I wash it I'll sometimes style it but sometimes just dry it.

I look a million times better when it's styled though!!

WetBandits · 25/10/2024 21:23

Hahaha, I have absolutely no business having hair as long as I do because I wear it down about 4 times a year 😂😂😂

Exactly this
My hair is long and fairly think (dare I say it quite nice too)
Yet I don't think I've had it down for a full day since June!

MollyRover · 26/10/2024 16:14

I'm trying to wash my hair less but really can't get away with more than every other day. It looks awful and my scalp gets itchy. I find if I shampoo twice, blowdry with heat spray and quick run through with a straightener it looks good for 2 days. I've got straight fine hair, get roots coloured every 6 weeks and cut every 3/4 months. I'd cut it more frequently but time and costs are an issue.

Stravaig · 26/10/2024 16:47

I wake up, gather, twist, and secure it atop my head with a hair elastic or random pointy thing. If it's a very special occasion I may even glance in a mirror to check there's nothing too odd happening.

Does that count?

(No washing, brushing, styling products, or heated appliances are involved.)

I wash it once or twice a week, and detangle it beforehand with a wide-tooth wooden comb. (Curls, with an underlying crinkle.)
