Please help me fix my dream heels!

I've finally managed to get my hands on the Kurt Geiger Pierre heels after years of really wanting them. I got the matching bag and purse as undergrad graduation gifts but I could just never justify the price.

I managed to find them today in TK Maxx and I really want to wear them for my masters graduation next month. The thing is, they're missing the right ankle strap. I got a huge discount for this thinking I'd maybe be able to buy a replacement from KG online but I can't see anywhere that they would do this since I didn't buy directly from them. Still worth reaching out but I'm not holding out hope.

Does anybody have any suggestions on anywhere that might sell them, from factory damaged shoes maybe or returns etc? Does anybody know someone who works for KG and may be able to work some magic? I'm praying I can find one as although I can take the left one off and wear them without, they won't be how they are meant to be :(

Thanks in advance

second hand for £17 on vinted.. buy these and use the ankle strap

You missed this comment and link to a £17 pair on Vinted @pierraheelssearch

There's also the same heels in a variety of sizes on Vinted. You could end up with two pairs for a decent price 😂

Thanks, but I didn't miss it. No way I'd be able to sell on the extra shoes missing a strap and think I can pay a lot less than £17 for 2 diamanté straps or ribbons that still look good.

To be honest after the years of pining I'd kind of given up ever getting them so when I saw them in TK Maxx in my size I was like... it's meant to be! Otherwise I'd have looked on Vinted lol.

If KG can't sell you a spare strap, you take the ankle straps (both, so you have a spare) from the Vinted size threes and bin the Vinted size threes. You then have perfect, complete KG heels for £36, which, for comparison purposes, is what Next charge for their own brand strappy heels that are far less pretty.

Personally if they were my dream shoes I’d want them 100% perfect and could easily be sold back on Vinted at a loss. You could always try and talk the seller down a bit lower.
Something like this would maybe work.

PiggyPigalle · 24/10/2024 00:28

Even if KG can provide a strap, they're likely to charge more than £17.
This is a once in a lifetime occasion to wear them.

I'm sure you would get the Vinted pair for less than £17 - I would offer £12 initially. I would buy them now and then if Kurt Geiger are able to send you a strap you can sell the vinted pair again. Surely it's worth it if you've been wanting them for ages?

Delphiniumandlupins · 24/10/2024 01:54

I'd buy the Vinted ones, probably get them less than £17.00. I'd then buy replacement straps off ebay. I'd keep and wear the 'perfect' shoes and resell the ones with the ebay straps.

Gosh! Lots of help here and that Vinted find is amazing !

Agreed. Given the cost of postage etc etc for various straps, options, potentially getting it wrong, cobblers etc, you may as well buy the Vinted ones.

Then don't do anything until you hear back from KG or not, if you do hear and get a strap then sell the intact Vinted pair. If you don't, then use the strap.

CoconutGroove · 24/10/2024 10:13

I’d buy the Vinted ones too. The cost of your TK Maxx sandals and the Vinted ones together are still much cheaper than new and it would give you a spare strap incase you need it. I’d act quite soon as many more people will have seen the Vinted sandals now they’ve been flagged up on here!

Can confirm, having stitched ankle ribbons to satin heels to keep them on my feet, that the knot just keeps untying.

sweetpickle2 · 24/10/2024 11:15

Agree with everyone else that you should just buy the vinted ones- I think trying to go cheaper here will just be a false economy (and barely save you a fiver).

PiggyPigalle · 24/10/2024 12:30

If KG had a replacement strap, I doubt they would have passed the shoes to TK Maxx without it.
It's said you could get the strap for £12 hopefully. It would increase the value of the shoes way beyond that.

false economy (and barely save you a fiver).

I'm getting strong scarcity mindset vibes from OP's posts. I recognise the urge to save every last penny and to go through all sorts of hoops and make all kinds of compromises to save a few quid because I've done it myself. Often, this has backfired because the cheapskate option didn't work and I have had to shell out for the "proper" option on top of what I paid for the cheapskate option, costing me more than if I'd just gone for the "proper" option in the first place.

Older-me, with a bit more money, recognises that trying to penny-pinch is often counterproductive, even though I still struggle to throw things away.

OP: it's worth £17 to get the correct strap and a spare and it's OK to buy the Vinted size threes, take the straps, and bin them to get the correct strap. You only graduate with an MSc once: it's worth £17 to do so with complete KG's on your feet.

It's more likely that the strap has fallen off in the shop and been binned during floor cleaning, or else someone has nicked it to replace a broken strap on a pair they already own.

Yes that's more likely than KG sending sub-standard goods to be sold.
Not sure where my head was, thinking that!

Cherrysoup · 24/10/2024 13:39

Timpsons told me they would send mine away as they don't have a sewing machine, but it would cost about £38. If you can find a similar strap, nobody will notice.

Oblomov24 · 24/10/2024 13:45

The green eBay ones that buttsurgery linked for £4 are fab as a temporary fix until you find any better glittery ones.

Oblomov24 · 24/10/2024 13:48

Or for £17 I'd just buy the size 3 chimbos vinted ones.
