Last time I had it done it cost £70 .
I am now strapped and need to spend less, how much do you spend on your getting your hair done, do you get what you pay for?

i've had highlights for a couple of years and they dry your hair out. i sometimes wish for my brown hair back again

£30 every few months. If I can afford it. Sometimes I can't so have scary roots and a long fringe.

I have a cut and highlights and its costs me £145 every 6 weeks - its a nightmare and I wish I could trust myself to colour it at home, but just know it would be a disaster!

Cut and t section highlights was £35 (I think)

bozza · 23/04/2008 21:30

I think I am cheaper than any of you on here other than the ones that do it themselves. For £18.50, I get it coloured (highlights or lowlights or full head), trimmed, blow dried and straightened, and she trims DD's (takes 30 secs) and cuts DS with clippers/scissors and last time she even french plaited DD's. OK she comes to the house so it is my water/electricty but who the hell cares?

Also this is cheaper than I used to pay her in the salon she used to work in 8 years ago (before both our DS's were born).

I have it done every 6 weeks.

Why do guys live to get such reasonable prices?

lou33 · 23/04/2008 22:28

all my colour cuts and perming is free, as my mate has a salon, and i often pop in and keep her company/answer phones/check on staff when she isnt there, for her, so she does my hair and my kids in return for free

however a wash cut and blowdry there is £39

not sure how much a colour is, but half head foils hi lights is 45 i think

i shall check

kids are a fiver up to the age of five, a tenner until the age of 10

gents cuts are 15 quid

if anyone lives in the godalming area, her salon is in the kings road, farncombe

fatzak · 24/04/2008 07:33

Bozza - you are near to me, think I will have to get her number as we could do with someone to do the DSes and DH from home! When I get round to signing up I'll CAT you if that's ok

Cut & half head highlights about £80, in Bedfordshire, I don't have it blow dried though as it is curly so I figure why bother.

MinW · 24/04/2008 07:40

The best deal I've found was £42 for a half head of highlights and a cut and blow dry. This was from a junior stylist at the Mark Hill salon (British hairdresser of the year several times). Only problem is that I have to travel 5 hours up to my parents in Hull (where he started out and still has his original salon) so not really the cheapest solution overall although the babysitters are free .

I usually pay £50.00 for a cut and colour
