What are "apartment pants" like

I keep seeing adverts for these 'apartment pants' on social media, from Saint and Sofia. I see them so much that I assume the company is genuine, unlike some of the FB ones! Does anyone have them? Are they as good as they sound?

I'm looking for plain black, straight leg, slight stretch, with side pockets, trousers that are smarter than jeans that I could wear to work (teaching) - like smartish trousers but without the crease/seam down the front or any pleats, not wool like suiting or anything reall smart. I don't care if they are pull on or button/zip.

The 'apartment pants' sound quite good, but then they say they are as comfortable as leggings, and that makes me think that they are actually the soft brushed cotton style that is too unstructured and doesn't look smart, especially after the first wear or two - it looks like leggings/PJs. Are these that sort of fabric? Or are they the sort of normal cotton/poly fabric that looks like normal trousers, if that makes sense - sort of woven fabric that's smooth.

I thought I'd found some with these Hobbs ones, but despite the photo looking OK, they were way too wide-legged for me (I am short and around a 16, and tend to wear slightly baggy tops and tunics to hide behind, and with wide-legged trousers, it kind of adds to the tent feeling!).

So something a bit straighter would be good. I have jeggings, which are OK shape wise, but they do just look like jeans with the pockets and detailing, and I need something a bit smarter/plainer than that.

So are apartment pants worth a punt?
(I tried that other company that advertises on FB a lot, somewhere from Sweden I think? but they didn't fit me at all and I had to return them, so I am still looking - I might be quite hard to fit! Something UK based would be better).

Thanks, the Jigsaw ones look good - I'll check them out as we have one of them as well as a concession in the city JL
And very pleased that uniqlo does seem to be OK for larger sizes, as they are usually quite affordable, but my earlier experiences were that they tended to be on the small size for things, so that's a nice change.

do you have a link to the uniqlo ones?

Trying to order online is frustrating. My waist size is coming up as 18-20, my hips as 14-16 on the Saint and Sofia site as well as the Hobbs site. But when I ordered a 16 from Hobbs, it was too big at the waist (as well as elsewhere). The fat face I was going to buy new jeggings from only had an 18 available, which was also too big at the waist, so I don't think that measurement is very accurate. I think my waist isn't in the normal place! It means having to order 2-3 sizes all the time as I can never really predict what will look ok.

Wish we had a uniqlo nearby so i could try some of theirs. Might even be worth waiting until I'm in London next I guess.

You could always try some of Phoebe's Santa pants instead...

I have the Saint and Sophia ones. They are perfect for me for working at home. More comfortable than jeans. I have been contemplating ordering another pair in a different colour.

I have the Saint and Sofia ones in black. I am 5 ft 4 and take the short size. I really like them. They were £69 down from £99. They are not worth £99!

I don’t wash them that much tbh. Always clean underwear and a shower every day but black trousers don’t need to be changed every day. I wear one day and then let them rest and then maybe wear them a few days later. Sometimes I press my clothes. That really seems to refresh them.If there is a small stain I just use a baby wipe. I

I don’t think washing our clothes all the time is necessary.
