Could someone please send me a link to a tried and trusted overseas site so I can buy some online? I bought some recently and it definitely wasn't the real thing.

Also, I'm going to Tenerife next month. Can you buy it over the counter there does anyone know? Thanks!

Slightly off topic, but how do you get just tret on skin and me or dermatologica? I’ve tried both, and it insists on sending other products I don’t want and can’t afford. So I’ve never finalised checkout.

FuckThePoPo · 06/10/2024 17:57

I also use all day chemist they're really good. Takes a month though for it to arrive

twiddlingthumbs69 · 06/10/2024 18:00

@talatala I use Dermatica. Signed up a few months ago and they prescribed me just Tret.
I was with skin and me. I asked them if they would prescribe Tret alone, they won't.
If you are used to Tret I'd go through the consultation with Dermatica, stating how you want it to benefit your skin.
I purely wanted it for lines so didn't really needed the other stuff in with it.
Started on 0.5% Tret and after one month asked if I could go up to 1%, which they agreed too.

Willowtree6 · 06/10/2024 19:46

I bought some off the tretinoinworld site someone suggested above. It's definitely the real deal and no problems with payment etc. Pleased to be getting back into it as last time I stuck at it for about 9 months and is absolutely made a difference to my skin but then I just stopped for so me reason.

I've done that aswell, it's part of the reason I don't want to use them.

I use Dermatica and have never had a problem like that . From their consultation, I get tret and niacinamide and the combination works. No hard sell.

the Skin and Me stuff did nothing for my skin, but the Boots retinol is brilliant, much stronger.

It won’t be stronger, all these retinol serums 1,2,5% are nowhere near as strong as tret, which is completely different, and is only available on prescription at strengths of 0.25. 0.05, and 0.1. People do not reali the difference. If you think Boots retinol is good, you’ll find tret much more effective!

Tret does takes time to show effects

Is anyone else having trouble using Tretinoin World? I can't get onto the site...any other recommendations? Thanks

Yeah I've been trying to get on for a while and can't. My tube is nearly finished so might have to bite the bullet and pay the extra for skin and me or similar. So annoying since the £18 tube from tretinoin world lasted me 4 months and these other subscriptions are like £25 a month.

Illpickthatup · 07/01/2025 11:03

Just seen this on their Instagram.

I bought from Skinorac for the first time just before christmas. Came in about a week which was very surprising.

I couldn't get PayPal to work so paid by (electronic money favoured by Elon Musk - to save this post being suspended for using the C word) but I think you can also do Amazon voucher.

LateMumma · 07/01/2025 11:19

Thank you all. I've just whatsapped Tret World, and they've replied saying their website has changed to skinsaviours.uk The WhatsApp number is the same, so I'd hope it's legit, but prices have gone up a fair bit since I last ordered. I'll have a look at Skinorac too

I didn't hear about this site. I used dermatica earlier then shifted to another one recently because of much better pricing.

Be warned. This is me with a broken skin barrier after using Tret.

Started on 0.5% then moved up to 1% after five months.

At first I thought it was just skin sensitivity and as I was seeing good results I continued.

Two weeks ago I woke up like this.

It's sore, weeping and scabby. I can't tolerate anything on it apart from Epaderm.

Tried using Vaseline but that seemed to make it more crusty.

Obviously I stopped using Tret for 2 weeks and gradually it calmed down. The redness was still there but the skin was dry.

Started using 0.5% last night but literally just round my eyes and it's totally flared up again.

So, the moral of the story is, if you're getting excessive stinging or acne like spots after 5 months, stop using Tret for a while. I didn't get any initial purging when I first started so thought I was tolerating it well. Lesson learned.

I won't use tret now until my skin is fully healed. Which is a bummer as I was seeing really good results.

Just thought I'd put this out there

The changed their website from tret world to treat worlds recently. They must keep getting shut down as they're obviously not supposed to be selling without prescription. I'll have a look at skin saviours.

In answer to this question - my prescription (which I think is quite a standard one) is tretinoin plus azelaic acid plus niacinamide in one tube (aka a "daily doser"). They sent a bunch of mini freebies in my first month, and I subsequently ordered one of them in full size once, but haven't bothered again.

The daily doser is very effective by itself (my skin is honestly looking soooo much better!), and I just use other brands such as CeraVe for cleansing and moisturising. In essence the basic monthly order is just for the daily doser with three ingredients.

If you're interested in trialling it, here a link which gives you the first and fifth month for £3.50.

I hope that healed, looks very painful!

Was that your prescription? I started on 0.005, went up 0.0025 each month then 0.015 for a few months before jumping to 0.025. I can't go higher than that, 0.1 sounds huge in comparison.

0.05% is quite a high strength to start on. I think I started on 0.025% 3 times a week with loads of moisturiser and gradually increased. I also avoided the mouth area as it initially gave me cracked lips. Definitely have to be really careful with it which I guess is why it's only supposed to be used with prescription under the care of a dermatologist.

jimmyateworld · 07/01/2025 15:23

Where could I get some decent priced stuff does anyone know ? I was in the canaries recently and tried a pharmacy over there (as recommended on here) but they said it's only on prescription now!

twiddlingthumbs69 · 07/01/2025 15:44

@Illpickthatup I think that's the danger. In all I've been using it for one year and did initially start on 0.025%.

I admit I became quite blaze about it. Moved up to 0.05% with no side effects then up to 0.01%, thinking, this is great. It's doing its job etc. Then suddenly this, literally overnight.

I so disappointed. ☹️

LateMumma · 07/01/2025 16:35

I couldn't get skin saviours to work either. The brand I use is Tretiheal. If you Google that a few different websites come up although not sure of their reliability.
