Hoodies for a young teen

missmousemouth · 16/09/2024 10:09

DD will be 13 soon and has asked for a "nice hoodie". She is becoming more fashion conscious but is cursed with a mother who is clueless on the subject. So I'm hoping someone here can help and maybe in the process I'll find out about shops other than Next where I can shop for her:

She is getting other gifts too so I'm looking for a hoodie that is:

  • warm (not thin cotton)
  • no zip
  • not cropped
  • no more than £30 max
  • won't make her feel like her mother dressed her

🤞

All the girls that age round here are wearing white fox hoodies

Hayley1256 · 16/09/2024 10:34

Could you let her chose one? My DD8 loves picking out her own clothes!

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 16/09/2024 10:47

White fox or Nike quarter zips here. Neither in your budget. Can you take her shopping instead, probably Primark.

bananaboats · 16/09/2024 10:55

Whitefox is popular here too, could possibly have a look on vinted to see if there was any in your budget?

Rory17384949 · 16/09/2024 12:06

White fox seems to be the only acceptable option around here!

They are more than £30 though - you could try and get a discount code or they do a first order discount

But I got my DD one from Hacoo which looks completely genuine and is very good quality.

RausageSoul · 16/09/2024 12:10

White fox popular but expensive. PLT have lots of lovely plain and neutral hooded tops and I think there's 25% off today

I nearly bought a White Fox last year for 12 Yr old DD but pleased I didn't because she then said that all the chavs wear them around here. Urban Outfitters always goes down well with her so that might be worth a try.

MothBat · 16/09/2024 12:17

Goose and Gander, Hollister, urban outfitters.

Stirmish · 16/09/2024 13:37

No one wears White Fox hoodies round here

I've only seen them mentioned on MN

If she's a normal size 6 ish then get her a plain Brandie Melville hoodie

Stirmish · 16/09/2024 13:39

DD wears all sorts these days but she's a few years older so has her own style as it were so I can't recommend anything specific other than I really like her Brandy Melville hoody

IdLikeToBeAFraser · 16/09/2024 17:10

White fox is popular here too - but more expensive. The boys all like Hoodritch which is also expensive. Not sure if they have girl options.

Urban Outfitters is a good choice and where we get lots from - but also outside price range.

Zara does a few hoodies at a decent price - that might work but could be a bit young for her, even though they do go up to age 14 technically. Although I guess they might have somethign in adults in XS that you could try.

TheOliveGoose · 16/09/2024 17:20

White fox or Nike here. Dd gets Nike things off vinted.

Tbh at her age I would be bringing her out to pick something herself.

missmousemouth · 16/09/2024 18:25

Thank you everyone. That certainly gives me a few more options.

Malia is popular due to tik tok which I think would be in budget if white fox isn’t.

FrogJump123 · 16/09/2024 18:35

Superdry do nice thick hoodies, but not sure if that is fashionable for a teen anymore, I would get her to look on vinted, could get several for £30 probably.

DeathStarCanteenGal · 16/09/2024 18:42

plenty wear White Fox hoodies round here - but according to DD (13) it's only chavs who wear them
She's happy enough in hoodies/sweats from H&M, New Look Look and Primark

Stirmish · 16/09/2024 21:44

Actually DD told me that White Fox hoodies are now a thing down here too

They're half polyester though so she's not getting one

Tinkhasflown · 16/09/2024 22:48

Whitefox is a definite no no I for my 13 year old. She loves Hollister and has bought herself a few bargains online there in the sale too. Sign up to emails for £10 off first order I think....

Invisimamma · 16/09/2024 22:57

White Fox. Or possibly essentials / represent. Can't go wrong with Nike.

Under no circumstances get super dry as a previous poster suggested! Really dated and not cool for a 13yr old.

Howmanyusernames123 · 16/09/2024 23:19

Broken planet are really nice. a little bit different and very popular, although not as ubiquitous as white fox.

have to say both WF and BP are decent quality and wash well.

caringcarer · 16/09/2024 23:43

Just ask her what she wants.

BackToRealitySigh · 16/09/2024 23:48

Yeah white fox popular here too & essentials, but prob more than £30 even with one of the endless discounts.
Pink palm puff or something as well. (Must find out for sure before christmas)

cartwheelsandhandstands · 16/09/2024 23:50

White fox
Pretty Little Thing

Blueuggboots · 17/09/2024 07:16

Have a look on Vinted....

fourelementary · 17/09/2024 07:21

White sheep (fox) is going down in teen dds view as she doesn’t want to just be one who goes with all the trends and they’re sooooo common now that it’s almost chav girl bingo - fake lashes ✅ white fox hoodie ✅ orange tan ✅ Nike pro leggings ✅ converse platforms ✅

urban outfitter iets frans I think are nice but not too trendy that it’s not nice?
