Underwear?
Footwear?

shellyleppard · 15/09/2024 21:00

Underwear, shoes, towels, cardigan or jumper for the evening??

TiramisuThief · 15/09/2024 21:01

What are your plans? Sightseeing?

It's cold until about 11am in the day and again from about 7pm so you will need a jacket/jumper & trainers if you're out and about.

pasta · 15/09/2024 21:05

Travel in jacket/jumper/shoes etc. Sandals? Buy mini toiletries when you are through check in at the airport? I think it sounds fine, but I am a pretty light traveller.

Helenloveslee4eva · 15/09/2024 21:48

JML tiny vacuum packing machine is my top tip for travelling tiny underwear bag only.
better to vac your clothes than roll or even use packing cubes.
nakes your bag heavy but there isn’t yet a limit on that 🤣
also the famous Uniqlo banana bag under your jacket for phone purse passport etc. . Have done 4 flights as small bag only now including a week away.

Thursdaygirl · 15/09/2024 22:21

what about toiletries and hair dryer/styler?

I am doing this exact same trip, with the same baggage allowance, also in December.

The riad we're staying in supposedly has a very nice spa, so I was planning to spend most of my time in a hotel bath robe.

Otherwise, I'll probably wear jeans and a jumper on the plane, and take a pair of linen trousers and a few silk shirts.

catscarestars · 16/09/2024 13:13

I do 7 nights in the Canaries with small underseat bag. Wear tunic top( that can double as short beach dress), leggings, throw over shirt, cardigan, large cotton scarf( that can double as a sarong), wear metallic trainers. Small crossbody bag under cardigan.
Take 3 dresses, pair sandals, spare pair pants, socks, bra.- was as needed. Swimsuit and night shirt. Decant toiletries into plastic bag. Buy other toiletries in boots at the airport.
It's liberating taking not a lot!

Oooo I wonder if you're one of my group?

Not in a group, just booked it myself, for some post-Christmas R&R

Are the t-shirt dresses below the knee? Some tourists dress quite skimpily, but it's a conservative country and when I lived there covering your shoulders and knees was ideal, and apart from anything else, although what you have sounds lovely, you might be cold! It gets very cool in the evenings (and daytime!) there in winter, and I would definitely want a long-sleeved dress or jumpsuit, trainers and a cardigan. It might be what you end up wearing every day, to be honest.

I'm very jealous. I'd love to go back.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 19/09/2024 20:37

Yes they are long. I am old as well as fat so I don't do skimpy.

Im interested in your pleated trousers, what are these?

halava · 19/09/2024 20:46

It's four days not four weeks! Add in a cardigan and another light top or two, a few pairs of knickers and flat sandals/shoes. Buy missing items in the shop, it's not the Gobi Desert.

Re the vacuum bag thing. How do you vac pac on the way home, do you ask the cleaner for a loan of the hoover or what? 😄

Mosharella · 19/09/2024 20:50

Just rock up , buy a few kaftans and some babouches and enjoy!

Mosharella · 19/09/2024 20:54

I remember Zandra Rhodes always wears kitty joseph pleated trousers when travelling. Styled with a tunic and some jewels. Strong Marrakech look 👍

Mosharella · 19/09/2024 20:57

I took a few long line silk chiffony long sleeved tunics to Morocco. Bum covering with sleeves, very light and very useful.

It is a tiny electric vacuum pump. So you can pop it in your case, and just plug it in (you’ll probably have adaptor anyway for electronics) before return trip.

Cailleach1 · 20/09/2024 15:24

Sorry! @halava re vacuum. Not @Mosharella .

I had a great time searching on Amazon for this, kept getting food vacuum sealers lol 😊

Anyway, back to my usual home style method of squeezing stuff in.... put stuff in large and/or small ziploc bags, squeeze air out, sit on bag, close the zip and off I go.

RamonaRamirez · 20/09/2024 21:27

I only ever travel with hand luggage even if it is 10 days

secret is to pack a bit of washing powder/detergent and just do a quick handwashing every 2 days. Takes less than 5 minutes

bring a cashmere jumper for warmth/layering

easy

hair dryers, iron etc can usually be borrowed at hotel

twilightcafe · 20/09/2024 21:29

You know what? Pay for the additional suitcase. Save yourself the headache of trying to cram your luggage into a tiny bag.

twilightcafe · 20/09/2024 21:32

record scratch
Did someone mention a suitcase mini vacuum?
🏃‍♀️ to Amazon...
