The perfect ankle boots

I'm on the hunt for the perfect ankle boots but have yet to strike gold and hoping Mumsnet might be able to help! I usually spend my autumn/winter in DM boots but looking for something different to change things up a bit. Key criteria are they have to be comfy enough to wear all day, with a bit of a heel but no more than 2", and I'd like to be able to wear them with jeans and skirts/dresses. Budget is up to £150ish but that could shift for the right pair! I quite like western style and quite like the idea of brown suede (definitely not black). I've been looking at Ash but not entirely convinced so looking for other options and would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance!

Me too @spikeandbuffy and @FlatWhiteExtraHot ! This is where my search started looking for a pair of brown Clarks boots like this that I had years ago and wore to death. I've found similar but nothing quite the same - as you say, heels are too high to toe too pointy and they're just not quite right! Ash Fame ( www.danielfootwear.com/ash-fame-p143661 ) is probably the best option I've found so far and I may end up buying some these (available from different places) - as well as the Jones chelsea boots I linked to above! You can never have too many boots can you? I've ended up becoming quite an expert in the options available after all my searching!!

They’re really nice @SingingGoldfinch. It’s the elusive greigy-beigy colour that I’m having trouble with. I know the colour I want in my head and I’m just not seeing it anywhere!

Thanks for the suggestions! All really helpful but I'm still hunting for the perfect pair. I've honed the search a bit and am looking at either western style or heeled Chelsea boots - in dark brown leather or suede - definitely leather not faux. I also know I definitely want a bit of a heel rather than completely flat, but no higher than 2". It doesn't sound like an impossible find to me and I've found a few options but just don't love any of them and I want to really love them - but maybe I'm just fussy!

Legres are fabulous; beautifully made in Italy, classic styles. Expensive, but will last for years.

Just had the winter boot hunt myself. Ended up getting two pairs, as I couldn't decide which to get.

And if you like DM boots, these are great too, they are SO comfy and don't need broken in at all like normal DMs:

Womens Dark Brown Dr Martens Jesy Heeled Boots | schuh

So happy with both pairs.

Hotter Gortex boots

How about these from Hotter? I've had several pairs of ankle boots from them that have all worn really well, been incredibly comfy right from the start and best of all, they have gortex in them so they look like regular leather or suede but they are waterproof. The soles are good for walking in if it's slippy too.

I seem to remember FatFace doing nice ankle boots last year

Have you seen these from Isabel Marant? Very pricey but I’ve seen some pre-loved in excellent condition on eBay and Vestiaire. You’ve probs seen the similar ones by Ash, think they are the perfect heel height.
