I am currently in my favourite Desigual dress which I wore to work today (school) . I wear it out too. First worn in 2006 ( in my staff photo) and every year since. It's a nice weight of cotton jersey so never looks too warm or too thin. Washes well in the machine .
Thick tights and boots for Autumn and Spring terms and with flats in the summer.
I suppose it will wear out eventually and I'll be bereft.

Whats everyone else got?

My underwear!

Plus my 3 pairs of bamboo leggings and my Russell and Bromley park ups.

goingdownfighting · 10/09/2024 21:25

Longer in vinted to find another one of your dress.

Wineandcupcakes · 10/09/2024 21:27

My leggings, work from home and I’ve often got them on. My leather jacket, it’s a collarless quite smart one and I wear it an awful lot.

Howmanyroses · 10/09/2024 21:30

Has to be my jeans and the levi jean jacket and maybe also my leather jackets. I make sure I buy really good quality items so they will likely last a lifetime

MissCherryCakeyBun · 10/09/2024 21:33

My knickers Blush

Sfxde24 · 10/09/2024 21:38

A navy blue linen jacket in a jean jacket style bought from John Lewis 25 years ago. Like a denim jacket but smarter and just seems to go with everything. Used to be a bit oversize and now isn’t…

AtmosAtmos · 10/09/2024 21:48

Bras and underwear. And socks wear out quickly as I limp a bit.

TheBers2024 · 10/09/2024 21:51

Impressed you can make bras and knickers last.
The only old ones I have in my drawers are the tiny things which got worn about twice in 2002 and aren't big enough to make into cleaning rags.

John Rocha hooded raincoat which I've had 10 years, still love, and seems to get used in all 4 seasons! I didn't have much money when I bought it but waited til it was half price in the sale. Still looks brand new.

Supersimkin7 · 10/09/2024 21:57

Paul Smith flash trainers, indestructible and comfy.

FrostyFlo · 10/09/2024 21:59

I used to volunteer at my local charity shop , if an item didn't sell they'd go down to 50% off if still not sold , on the 50p rail .
12 years, ago , I got a pair of pull on trousers ( label said Matalan ) from the 50p rail , they are just about ready to chuck now and have been worn fairly regularly . Bargain !

mynameiscalypso · 10/09/2024 22:00

I have a grey jumper which, while it isn't my oldest item of clothing, is the one I have worn the most by far. I bought it about 10 years ago from New Look and I probably wear it 3/4 times a week from September - May. The price per wear must be astonishing.

EternallyDelighted · 10/09/2024 22:04

I was going to say my gore-tex coat which I bought in 1997 and has been in regular use ever since but the zip broke this evening 😢.

Other than that a velvet cowl neck three quarter sleeve top which has been worn to smart winter occasions for about 25 years. M&S

PollyOrange · 10/09/2024 22:07

Primark charcoal grey thin jumper
£7 and worn to death

AnyFucker · 10/09/2024 22:09

Doc Martens Leonore Chelsea boots. Back in them after a couple of months off in the “summer”

Oceangreyscale · 10/09/2024 22:10

Well I have a dress I bought when I was 15 and still sometimes wear at 39. It's cut on the bias so still somehow fits.

But in general, jeans. I only ever have one pair that I wear at a time so I wear them a lot.

And a jumper from Reiss mens that I've worn so much it's more hole than jumper at this point!

Pudmyboy · 10/09/2024 22:10

It is heartening to read of items being worn consistently for years!
I don't have anything to match 25 years but I got a shift dress in the sale at Wallis about 15 years ago which I still wea and love,, there have been times when it's not been worn due to weight gain but it actually gives me an incentive to lose weight if it is too snug!

TianasBayou · 10/09/2024 22:14

Dressing gowns! I have two long snuggly fleece robes for winter and two Seasalt pottering gowns for the summer. I'd wear them all the time if I could!

A couple of oversized men's cashmere roll neck jumpers which are my winter staples.

My dry cleaners put new zips on so you'll be able to get it fixed if you want!

TomaytoTomaato · 10/09/2024 22:17

I've got a fleece that I bought in 1998 that's still in use.
It's now mainly used when I'm gardening, but it's still going strong!

sw10krg · 10/09/2024 22:21

A cotton dressing gown I bought from Next in 1992. Still going strong.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 10/09/2024 22:26

I've got a pale blue cotton shirt from Peacocks - heaven knows how old it is but I've worn it every summer for years as a sort of cardigan, and also as a cover- up from the sun. This year the material has worn through in the front, and is too thin to be repaired.
A similar useful item is my H&M blue denim shirt. As above, but a bit heavier. Lovely and soft, with pearl buttons, and seems to go with everything (apart from blue denim jeans!). Probably about five years old.

pinkgown · 10/09/2024 22:35

A pink anorak which my mother bought for me when I was 14 for a school skiing trip.

err... that would be the 1960s.

It's been my gardening coat for quite a few years now. Just goes to show how durable man-made fibres are 😁

StormingNorman · 10/09/2024 22:37

A white shirt from Crewe. I can dress it up, dress it down, wear it to work, wear to parties and smart dinners. And I never travel without it. Obviously I wear it all year round too.

MancMa · 10/09/2024 22:41

A lace blouse from LK Bennett about 10 years ago, always comes out in winter. And a camel and black scoop back stripe t shirt from &otherstories- i will be sad the day that gives up the ghost.
I’ve lots of high end high street classic clothes that I happily pull out year on year, just need to keep the same size so they fit :)
