I am currently in my favourite Desigual dress which I wore to work today (school) . I wear it out too. First worn in 2006 ( in my staff photo) and every year since. It's a nice weight of cotton jersey so never looks too warm or too thin. Washes well in the machine .
Thick tights and boots for Autumn and Spring terms and with flats in the summer.
I suppose it will wear out eventually and I'll be bereft.

Whats everyone else got?

A khaki whistles dress that I got in a charity shop nearly 10 years ago. I’ve changed size and shape a bit but it still looks great. I’ll be gutted when it finally wear out as I wear it probably fortnightly!

Wigtopia · 10/09/2024 22:48

I hate clothes shopping (but love my clothes) so I’ve got a bunch of stuff from my teenage years that is still in rotation

RobinEllacotStrike · 10/09/2024 22:51

My jellyfish dress. I made it several years ago. It's a bit faded. I wear it loads though it will probably be relegated to a beach dress next year.

I have a crepe chiffon big flowy top I made 38 years ago with fabric from my Nan's stash. I've worn it every year, in many countries, all seasons and taken it on every holiday. I'll probably be buried in it.

I made the top the same year I had a termination as a teen & it recently occurred to me that this top is perhaps a kind of strange memorial to that time.

Whitestuff dresses. I have twenty or so. Pretty much all same cut, with pockets, some long sleeved some short. Easy to wear, tights and cardi with boots for winter, sandals in summer.

i have some from at leat ten years ago. Not had one wear out yet although a couple are a bit faded.

(unlike their T shirts which I’ve given up on buying despite loving their fabrics as they hole quickly around the jeans button area).

A leopard print fur jacket from M&S that's about 10 years old, that gets worn most days in winter. And for length of service a black boat neck jumper from Bay Trading bought in about 97 or 98. Somehow it fits when I've been a 10 and an 18 on top and is going strong bar a small hole along a seam.

Some half chaps for riding bought by my mum about 40 years ago and used fairly regularly by me and My dd.

A white cotton and embroidery tired skirt knee length from bought by my mum, given to me and now my dd wears it. It's about 50 years old and fitted waist. I'll never get it on again, sadly.

A summer and a winter ball gown bought in the early eighties and rolled out once a year each:)

A lbd bought just under 40 years ago, went everywhere, worn to everything, now worn by dd and her absolute favourite dress.

Love hearing about clothes going round again:) the stories they could tell.

My Blundestone Boots. I live in them

My dry cleaners put new zips on so you'll be able to get it fixed if you want!

Yes, I was thinking that. But then I was also thinking it might be nice to get a new one after all this time. It isn't as waterproof as it used to be even with the treatment stuff. Dilemma! I got drenched tonight when the zip came away in my hand in a sudden downpour.

SkaneTos · 10/09/2024 23:06

A green shirt that I bought at the Gap in the US.
I have blue-green eyes, but the shirt makes my eyes look more green, which I love.

Gawjus · 10/09/2024 23:15

My clogs. They are exactly like Crocs except they don't have any holes. Although I own 20 pairs of footwear, I find myself wearing these clogs all day every day week after week after week.

hangingonfordearlife1 · 10/09/2024 23:29

black work trousers.

Sgtmajormummy · 10/09/2024 23:49

My Summer clothes are a motley selection spanning 3 decades. I’ve added two sleeveless cotton shirt dresses this year that I can imagine wearing (with a cardigan) from April to October.
Some things don’t make it out of the wardrobe, like an Indian tunic which I last wore when 18yo DD was in Primary. But this Summer I got complimented on a second-hand-to-me in 2008 “toile de Juoy” skirt worn with a blue ribbed tank top. It’s had time to come back into fashion!

Same and I wear them to work as well!

My Doc Marten Aimilita boots with sheepskin trim and ribbon laces. Going strong since 2018 and the comfiest, most hard-wearing things ever. I got furry insoles for them last winter that made them even cosier.

I have a linen-cotton Brora cardigan that I think I’ve had since 2007, it’s only just wearing out. Previously had a cashmere black cardigan from Brora which I wore 2-3 days a week to work for 10 years. It was expensive but price per wear was small!

Britpopbaby · 11/09/2024 08:15

Whistles animal print scarf that I have had 15 years I would say and gets pulled out during A/W and winter.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 11/09/2024 08:23

Got a pashmina I have had since I was 14/15. I'm early 40s now. It's been my winter scarf for all that time. The tassles look a bit tatty and someone burned it by flicking cig ash at me once, but it's still cosy and the colours are still good. Think it was from Beatties in Birkenhead.

Summerdew · 11/09/2024 08:49

I bought a beautiful full length white cotton skirt from French Connection in the late 1990s, fully lined, have worn it every summer since, sometimes it sits on my waist sometimes my hips depending on how fat I am but looks as good as new. This was when FC was beautiful quality and you saved up to buy something from there. I really miss the shops from the 1990s, I know some of them are here in a new guise but the quality of things, even from Top Shop was so much better.

EdithStourton · 11/09/2024 09:13

Jeans
Bras

I have a black wool skirt I bought almost 40 years ago that still gets worn to funerals.

Cantonet · 11/09/2024 09:48

A reversible belted beige/cream Cashmere Cardi Coat by Daddy's Daughters. It was a fortune from Tk Maxx about 10 years ago. It's still in very good nick & regularly gets debobbled & washed in the machine. The buckle is broken but I'm planning on replacing it. I've worn & worn it, especially in Autumn/Spring. And my 🐕 hairs match the colour & hence don't show up!

ScribblingPixie · 11/09/2024 09:51

Definitely denim - my denim utility jacket, maxi skirt and dark wide-leg jeans have worked like Trojans this year.

RainintheDesert · 11/09/2024 09:54

A pair of black Hotter trainers. Four years of constant wear, all over the place, only now am I thinking they look a bit tatty.

ACatCalledPuss · 11/09/2024 09:57

Definitely my Jack Wills Cartmell jacket. I live near the coast and walk a lot and I basically wear this jacket all year round. Perfect for layering and so light to tie around waist if too warm. I'm on my second, both bought off ebay and will be replacing with a third this winter.

biedrona · 11/09/2024 09:58

My ARKET shirt.

Anoisagusaris · 11/09/2024 10:08

Black seamfree pants from Primark. I’ve some for years.

Black Sweaty Betty leggings.

Fir flops
