Help find winter equivalent of linen trousers please

I have a large tummy. I spent the summer in wide leg linen trousers with elastic waist. Very inexpensive from H&M.

i wonder what the winter equivalent is. If there is one.

Jeans haven’t looked good on me in years.

I still wear my comfy linen trousers in the autumn/winter. I just add a pair of those really soft, fine thermal m&s leggings underneath when it starts to get proper chilly. 😄

Sorry about the long link!

These look lovely thank you and would be comfortable. I think they might cling to my wobbly lower tummy.

Maybe with trainers. I have been wearing them with sandals. I’m permanently warm anyway these days!

I bought some straight leg trackies from
H&M to wear camping- I live in them now! Elasticated waist but not gathered if that makes sense, and they look smart enough for home, walks, pub etc

180orsotogo · 08/09/2024 10:34

These look lovely thanks but i I think I would miss the elastic waist.

Oniqlo do some nice brushed cotton ones

180orsotogo · 08/09/2024 10:36

They look really comfortable.

I think we probably lived in the same trousers! I have some drawstring jeans which are super comfy and then I saw recommended on here some Uniqlo ribbed knit drawstring trousers which I'm in love with. They hit at angle length for me and look great with trainers so may not be ideal for the depths of winter.

These look good. I wonder if they would cling.

I have some elastic waist straight trousers in brushed cotton from Uniqlo for work bought a few years ago and still look good but I wear with longer tops as not as flattering and skimming/wide ones . Haven’t seen them since.

Will have another look.

I like these thick black cord trousers. I only like their plain stuff and I only like natural fabrics. The cut irl is better than it looks in their photos.

I can't cope with tight jeans any more, I'm also planning on wearing my linen and cotton balloon-fit trousers with wool tights underneath if it gets cold this year. Or knee high wool socks underneath. And thick cotton cuffed joggers. Or at a push, thick black stretchy leggings.

I will also be wearing wool dresses and tights. No rigid waistbands, basically 😁

I have a couple of pairs of the Saint and Sofia and they aren't clingy, nice quality too

Babychewtoy · 08/09/2024 11:01

I’ve ordered these but not tried them on yet. A lot of the sizes are out of stock so seem to be popular!

Wide leg trousers in a jersey or wool fabric.

180orsotogo · 08/09/2024 11:15

This is all great. Im now just narrowing down which to order and try! I’ll try remember to update if any were a success.

I second (third?) the Saint and Sofia ones. The ones I have are jersey and I wear them all the time. They wash brilliantly, don't cling on my (large) lower belly, and never need ironing

Wow I love these! Shame my size is OOS but good for my bank balance 😂

PumpkinSpicedTea · 08/09/2024 11:53

I was going to suggest tailored trousers but might not be casual enough for you.

I bought the popular cord trousers from M&S in brown last year which are a good alternative to jeans.
