I have a large tummy. I spent the summer in wide leg linen trousers with elastic waist. Very inexpensive from H&M.

i wonder what the winter equivalent is. If there is one.

Jeans haven’t looked good on me in years.

These are heavy fabric and hang beautifully.

Check out the denim elasticated wide leg trousers also in black. Very comfortable under you might like these at bottom of page.
Trousers shown are also very comfortable. I have the black and grey ones.

I love those wide leg jeans. Didn’t even occur to me there might be elastic waist jeans. My searching skills are not good! They are out of stock online but have one pair of each in my nearest store.

I like the idea of these for atumn/winter as I can't stand the tightness of jeans anymore, but what coat do you wear with them? Or do you not wear a coat?

dinmin · 08/09/2024 19:22

Hollister Livvy! Recommend them often

I have been looking at these but need to go and try some on as I am not sure of sizes.
XL is 14/16 and I am at the top end of 16 but the XXl is a 16/18 and I am pretty sure that will be too big

I’ve seen some nice knitted trousers on my ‘new in’ browsing that I’m considering.. I’m not sure if they are more for lounging tho?! 😬

Drawstring jeans I think are going to be very popular this season!

RobinEllacotStrike · 08/09/2024 21:56

They make these in a winter weight & a summer weight

My problem is that wide leg trews end up sopping wet to the knee when I'm walking the dog. So I like a tapered baggy leg with a slimmer ankle fit. I've got some baggy ISH merino mix joggers that are good too with drawstring waist, and saw some lovely cargo cord trousers (Tu)

I have my eye on these. Love the green ones

These look interesting. Do you know what the sizing is like with Land's End?

OhMaria2 · 09/09/2024 19:16

What shoes would you guys wear with these?

Twoshoesnewshoes · 09/09/2024 21:58

I wear flat trainers (as opposed to running trainers)

Frenchiex · 14/09/2024 18:59

I am exactly the same and got the H&M wide leg joggers this week and was surprised how nice they are. Ordered in another colour as wasn’t expecting to be able to wear them for anything except the school run and home but they are really nice and only £14.99

These look lovely thank you and would be comfortable. I think they might cling to my wobbly lower tummy.

They really don’t cling to a wobbly tummy. The fabric is really good quality and slightly compressive.

I still wear my comfy linen trousers in the autumn/winter. I just add a pair of those really soft, fine thermal m&s leggings underneath when it starts to get proper chilly. 😄

Can I ask what shoes you wear?

LittleEsme · 14/09/2024 19:35

Marking spot. Good question OP!

DancingInDryness · 15/09/2024 01:53

Have h and m stopped doing petite/short fit? Love the look and the price of the wide legged joggers but can't take regular length.

StopPissingMeOff · 15/09/2024 08:59

@whatshalliday
I wear my trousers quite long, so no ankle grazer lengths. I find i can wear anything from nice trainers, ankle boots, loafer types and i occasionally use long boots.

BonniesSlave · 15/11/2024 15:01

I have the baker trousers from Uniqlo that a pp mentioned - im a size 16 and i avoided this style for ages thinking it would be unflattering but theyre not! Really comfy too
