Curly haircut was worth the money!

Got mine done today; more expensive than a regular cut but I'm so pleased
Nice not to walk out the salon hating it or having to tie it up or realise it's lopsided

Just wish all hairdressers could cut curly hair!

I can recommend Heads High in Brixton. I've had my hair cut my two of the stylists and they both did a great job. My hair is similar to the photo posted above.

That looks great OP! DD has curly hair. I've been tempted to take her 3 hours to a hairdresser in Bristol to get it cut properly and for them to teach her how to look after it. If anyone has a recommendation for the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire/North London area, I'd be very grateful to avoid the drive!

The Curl Bar is in north london, one branch in Crouch End/Hornsey and another in Bounds Green.

I've been going to Lindsey the Curl Whisperer now for about 5 years and am delighted with the results every single time! Can't wait for my next appt in about 8 weeks. She's now in Hackney or thereabouts.

Anyone recommend someone in n Somerset or south/west Bristol? I've never had a perfect cut

Hairking Callum in Urmston

Dahm it. Too far for me. Anyone know a salon in south london?
You look beautiful 😍

Yep I just recommended Heads High in Brixton, above.

YearsofYears · 04/09/2024 20:23

Wow what a result! I was just thinking about this today as my loose curl pattern is actually nicer when I need a hair cut and kind of gets ruined by my normal hair cuts. My hair is actually wavy is it still worth a curly cut?

I'd love to know who the Bristol one is if you have a good curly one there please 🙏

Looks incredible.

Thanks for all the recommendations!

@mitogoshi this was the place I was thinking of taking DD:

Ah, you've missed off the recommendation!

Olika · 04/09/2024 20:30

Wow your hair looks amazing 🤩

Ooh, it looks amazing! I keep wondering whether to get one. If anyone has had a good one in the Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire area I'd love to hear where!

At the moment, I cut my own hair as it's so pointless going to normal hairdressers. They always say I need " long layers to drag the curl down" so they basically put in no layers and I end up looking like a frizzy christmas tree!

Me too!!

Jewelanemone · 04/09/2024 20:33

Superb hair!

Luckingfovely · 04/09/2024 20:34

Just dropping in a very strong recommendation for Trepadora in Berkshire.

Almost life-changing.

The curl by curl cut. Very expensive. But very worth it.

I would say so. I'm more towards the wavy side than curly (wavy underneath, tighter on top)

I used to go to Nuala Morey in Bristol but it was very hit and miss depending on which stylist you got, and almost impossible to see the same one twice.

She also whacked up her prices during covid - I felt £120 for a very average trim was far too much.

I now go to Tame the Mane in Bristol which is MUCH cheaper (not difficult!) and am much happier with both the cut and the service; would recommend them.

I pay £105 for the full thing or less if I'm just having a cut with no wash/style

I go to Lindsey too! Also for about 5 years.

She’s transformed my hair. I just went to her new place in Hackney, and have followed her all over London. My curls look amazing after she’s cut and dried my hair.

Maybe we've passed each other on the way in or out ;)
What's the new place like - was it easy to find? Farringdon was so convenient for me, I'm a little nervous about the new area.

whiskyremorse · 05/09/2024 07:11

Only curls have a map of stylists who use their range on their site. A handy way of finding someone near to you.

The place itself is nice - a little container which is really lovely.

I’ll admit I’m directionally hopeless so my husband drove me! Feels quite dodgy in Hackney if I’m honest, so I was glad I wasn’t wandering the streets getting lost. A normal person could no doubt find it really easily.

Everywhere she’s been has been an absolute schlep for me.

I also go to Heads high for my curly/wavy haircut. The ownerJacob is excellent

Thank you, that's good to know. I've actually persuaded my partner to come with me and then sit in a cafe and wait while I have my appointment because I'm nervous about the area!

Laughing at 'normal person' - are there any on MN?! lol

But, the schlep is soooooo worth it isn't it! And lucky it isn't needed that often! x
