Sezane Max shirt yay or nay

What do people think of the sezane Max shirt in Leo print which is basically leopard print? It's 100% silk and I've not worn silk in years. It's also very £££. I've been eyeing it for over a year and now leopard print is on trend, I'm thinking about it again.

This one?

No from me but in the interests of full disclosure I don't like animal prints or Sezanne.

Nay

Xyz1234567 · 01/09/2024 04:46

It looks cheap and tacky.

AnnieMcFanny · 01/09/2024 04:47

Op, it’s lovely. I think however you’ll have to be sure it’s the right colours for you.

HotHotChilli · 01/09/2024 06:08

Not a fan but mainly because silk is not my fav fabric, it makes me sweat and clings (but I am in a hot country and avoid any silk).

Not to keen on the pattern either. So Nay...

leafybrew · 01/09/2024 07:33

I'm always wrong on these threads (style and beauty) as I think that shirt is really pretty and not at all tacky. Normally I'm not a massive fan of animal prints either.

If you have the money, then I would get it.

ncforcatquestion · 01/09/2024 07:37

I love the pattern, just don't like the colour

sillylittlerabbit · 01/09/2024 07:55

Ideally leopard print is more of a neutral, and I think the darkness of the brown doesn't quite work here.

The print and colour of the leopard skirt is prettier, imho.

I'm surprised Sezane have gone in on leopard print and can only assume it's the Ganni effect! I think there are nicer things on there.

Tiddlywinkly · 01/09/2024 07:58

I've got two Max shirts in cotton and linen (sized down) and like them. I personally wouldn't get animal print or silk, but that's entirely due to my taste and lifestyle. But if you think you'd like it, give it a try!

Littleguggi · 01/09/2024 08:23

Really helpful thanks everyone, I think there's a reason why it's been on my wishlist for a year and why I've not brought it by now. It's perfectly styled on the model and I would not look like that, for a starters I don't wear jeans so I'd end up wearing it with leggings. It is my colour and I am in the market for a new shirt so the search continues..

I quite like it and the colour. What does it mean by "drawstring stockings" in the description?

Neveranynamesleft · 01/09/2024 10:00

I like it but it's nothing special tbh and the price is too much.... Looks like something you could pick up in any of the cheaper stores such as Next or H&M. No doubt we are going to be drowned in animal print shortly.

henlake7 · 01/09/2024 10:01

Its a decent basic looking shirt. Im not keen on silk personally and I dont like the leopard print (prefer either very natural looking or a completely different colour...the brown just looks 'not quite right' to me).

KirstenBlest · 01/09/2024 10:12

@Nomorewindchimes ,I was just about to ask that! The shirt is a no from me.

From my search, 'drawstring stockings' are the same as 'drawstring casings'.
I can't tell from the photo where they are.

Negroany · 01/09/2024 10:53

I like the other ones (most of them) but what is the point of them designing an over sized shirt then telling you to size down because it comes up big? Bewildering.
I can't wear blouses because I have boobs (and a tummy, so no tucking in), so they gape and look matronly. I was thinking this one might be OK, but probably not if I size down.....

Peaceatlast01 · 01/09/2024 12:02

Well, I love it but definitely don’t wear it with leggings OP!

LemonyCoughSyrup · 01/09/2024 12:18

I really like Sezane but their shirts look better with jeans. I love silk shirts too, but not sure about this one OP

MrTwatchester · 01/09/2024 13:29

I like leopard print, but not that one, it looks cheap.

Shirts with leggings though? Can't see that looking quite right. It's the kind of outfit I end up in because a delivery man shows up when I'm slobbing about in the middle of a workout, and I want to cover my sports bra.

TheCultureHusks · 01/09/2024 13:39

A definite no. For me, it’s the brown colour - it’s just not right somehow. It doesn’t look luxe or interesting, it just has a tone that manages to completely cheapen the shirt. Just a horrid orange tone to it.

if it was right, you’d have gone for it by now.

Littleguggi · 01/09/2024 14:54

Ahh does noone else wear oversized shirts with leggings or slim trousers as an alternative? I am petite so shirts usually drown me, but I quite like the proportions when worn with leggings/ fitted bottoms.

OP posts:
paristotokyo · 01/09/2024 15:11

No for me. For the same price the chlo shirt is much nicer if you want a silk shirt? Comes in different colours. I especially like the emerald green and new 'blue storm' colour they have in. Also no to leggings with blouses like these. I think straight cut/tapered trousers would be fine too though

Notcontent · 01/09/2024 15:14

Sorry, but a definite no with leggings. I like that shirt and had been looking at it myself but I would wear it with jeans. Leggings are for exercise.

MrTwatchester · 01/09/2024 15:16

Yes maybe on a petite frame it works—I love that look on Judy Garland in A Star Is Born, when she wears a bright pink shirt over black tights, while lounging around at home.

I'm tall and broad, leggings are scruffs or exercise gear for me.

Babyworriesreal · 01/09/2024 17:08

I like it, but wouldn't pay that for it, as you can get similar, in a different fabric, for half that, which look just as good.

MyCupOfTea32 · 01/09/2024 19:18

Ok, I'm the outlier here but I absolutely love it. Now considering buying it as it's absolutely the kind of shape I like to wear tucked into high waisted trousers for work. 😂. I love an animal print though and have loads of it. I do think if you're going to spend that much though you have to love it, so maybe not for you OP.
