Clarks village

Clerks village is where you go to get cut-price office workers.

You can get good shoes in Clarks Village, don't knock it. All you can get in Nairobi are Kikois and beaded sandals. Fine if you are a lentil weaver.

Thanks for you super kind offer as ever LG&T, but I fear those people at customs would snaffle any lovely purchase or charge me 1,200% duty.

right, i am looking for a summer wedding frock. i am apple shaped, size 14-16 (thanks to the apple plus have broad back and shoulders), d cup tits, prefer not to do upper arms (which aren't actually that bad but exposing them makes me do that Liz Hurley-never-put-them-right-down thing all day which is not conducive.) GREAT legs and ankles so nothing below the knee.

if i can't find something i just know i'm goiing to wear my old reliable green and violet leopard print DVF wrap with collar and cuffs (on the dress... ) but tbh i wouldn't mind something new. nothing fitted on waist (just above is fine) and nothing shifty. howzat?

JackieNo · 20/04/2008 10:50

Aitch - would something from here work - maybe the spotted one? Not sure if it would be too fitted around the waist though.

AitchTwoOhelicopterfraek · 20/04/2008 10:53

oooh, i rather like that in blue. i have green cat's eye glasses and a bob so i'd look suitably mental, which i like. think of me as channelling velma from scooby doo with red lippie.

JackieNo · 20/04/2008 10:54

lol - I like it. Thought from the description of the DvF dress you weren't a shrinking violet.

AitchTwoOhelicopterfraek · 20/04/2008 10:57

well what would be the point of that, i ask you?

come on ladies, we have our first hit. who can do better?

(and what jacket for that frock? i'd prefer no wraps as they're, well, so wrappy.) i like structure but don't want to have an argument with the frock underneath.

JackieNo · 20/04/2008 11:35

It's a difficult one to find - Wallis have a good selection of neutral short-ish jackets atm. Or maybe you need a coat - love the ones near the bottom of that page and the pink satin trench.

AitchTwoOhelicopterfraek · 20/04/2008 12:08

i'm looking at the dress again, really likinig it (on the point of ordering it) but do we think it's a wrap or a fake wrap? that might kill the deal for me.

JackieNo · 20/04/2008 12:13

I suspect an actual wrap, but I'm sure you could ring them and find out. By the way - they also do coats - might the middle one work? The right hand one's nice, but maybe not with norks.

does everyone know something about this label that i don't? i'm not keen on anything other than that dress, it's a high % cotton and i think it could fit the bill. where do they sell? is it a high st thing that we don't have? [mystified]

lapin, that dress for me is a bit milquetoast, i'd just wear the DVF if i can't find anything i like, cos i do feel rather faaaaabulous in it.

fransmom · 20/04/2008 13:01

er, help? my cousin's wedding is in august, i am single mom with v.little money and no idea what to wear!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AitchTwoOhelicopterfraek · 20/04/2008 13:02
