I think I have found the perfect bra

Well, for me. As I am aware that everyone is different.

My criteria is:
non wired
stretchy band without back clasp (I am always very aware of the clasp when I wear one)
padded but not removable ones as they often don’t sit right and if you accidentally leave one in end up all scrunched up
Still give reasonable support and shape.

Anyway, it has been a long frustrating and often costly search but I finally found a bra I am happy with so I thought I would share it in case anyone else is fussy in the same way as me.

Only available in black, white and “shell” but hopefully they will do some more colours soon.

Their t-shirts are really good quality and wash beautifully, so I am sad to see there isn’t a version of that bra that would fit a small underbust but huge bust.

This is always the problem with bras like this that get praised for comfort. They always do an equivalent of large chest size / fairly large cups, but never an equivalent of smaller chest but very large cup. And it's extremely hard to find examples of the latter that are both supportive and comfortable.

Hucklemuckle · 22/08/2024 16:00

I like wireless bras with actual structure that gives uplift. These booby ones just look too shapeless.

Kipperthedawg · 22/08/2024 16:04

I have a mixture of boody and Bella bodies bras. They are SO comfy. The Bella bodies ones are probably my favourite for more structure, the boody ones I wear around the house as crop top style. Very good for WFH.

bella bodies control underwear is also good. Because it's largely bamboo it doesn't get so sweaty.

TheMithrasDirective · 22/08/2024 16:10

I feel your joy - I had to buy bras on hols as didn't bring enough and they were all sweaty, so went into H&M and grabbed something that looked OK but turned out to be a perfect fit and super comfy. I went back the next day for more. I've never really got the hang of bra buying, which sounds daft, but they never seem to fit me right. So v happy to have something decent.

learieonthewildmoor · 22/08/2024 17:44

Have ordered one. Thanks for the recommendation!

Newtosertraline · 22/08/2024 17:50

Oooh I am being driven mad by bras at the moment. How do you find the narrow straps, any digging in?

I’m really sensory about clothes and can’t stand the feel of back clasps, bands that are too tight fitting, riding up under armpits etc etc. I once spent about 2 hours trying on almost every one in M&S following the boob to bust measuring site and adjusting sizing up and down etc and still failed…Desperate to find a perfect one!

The straps are a bit wider than standard. Not noticed them really, which is a good thing.

I would like it with removable pads!

The rest of their padded range have removable pads.

I’m just fed up in the morning trying to find the right pads for the bra only for one to be scrunched somewhere when my husband did the laundry and never lies right again.

This is the perfect every day bra for me -

Wow- that’s so expensive, it doesn’t look anything special

itsnotmeitsu · 22/08/2024 18:52

@Newtosertraline > I haven't worn an actual bra since covid lockdowns. Bad enough being restricted in your movements, without being restricted by your underwear.

I wear camisoles; you can either boost your breasts by using padding, or just cover up your nipples so you're not offending those who think older people shouldn't have them🙄

Whyhaveibeencutoutofmamsnot · 22/08/2024 20:47

Where are these bras made?

Shuttheblinds · 22/08/2024 23:50

I have this bra and agree it is really comfy. Not very structured though so does give a mono boob on me but perfect for wearing around the house.

There bikini knickers are fantastic though, the comfiest I have ever had. A bit pricey but so worth it.

LoneHydrangea · 23/08/2024 07:50

I really hate the trend for padding or moulded cups. Even bikini tops all seem to have bloody padding in them.

I’m a 32DD, so not even big but moulded cups or padding make me look really matronly.

Yeah, major boob shelf energy

That isn't supporting the full cup of the breast, so isn't a good bra

FinalInstructionstotheAudience · 23/08/2024 08:34

as @Shuttheblinds said, MONOBOOB!!

Rory17384949 · 23/08/2024 09:43

I have one of the boody ones in the link and I do like it but I find the band rides up so it's right under my boobs and all scrunched up - anyone else had this??
Not sure if I need a smaller or bigger one (but I really don't think I would fill a larger size), or the non full bust one and the same size. According to their size guide I am wearing the right size (medium fuller bust)

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 23/08/2024 09:43

FinalInstructionstotheAudience · 23/08/2024 08:34

We all have different shapes but the bra hasn’t given me a mono boob.

I’m not sure what you mean with this - can you explain?

OP posts:
shirtyumbrellatree · 23/08/2024 09:51

I would love to be able to wear something like that.
However, they do nothing for me.
I take a 32H on a small day.
I really really wish they could create one of these stretchy bras that actually lift and support me - but I don’t think it’s possible.
The ones that claim to fit me leave them wobbling round my waist like someone’s fat nan.

Peaceatlast01 · 23/08/2024 09:59

@Kipperthedawg please could you link to the Bella Bodies bra you like? Thank you ☺️

I really hate the trend for padding or moulded cups. Even bikini tops all seem to have bloody padding in them.

I’m a 32DD, so not even big but moulded cups or padding make me look really matronly.

And I keep clicking on bra ads and finding no padding and then I can't buy them. I need padding as my nipples show through unpadded bras and weirdly (as someone who cares little how I look and what people think) this makes me feel undressed in public.
