Wedding band without engagement ring, something more ornate?

ThreeRings2 · 18/08/2024 21:14

Going to be getting married but won't have an engagement ring.

Rather than a plain wedsing band I was thinking of getting something else because there won't be a engagement ring there too.

But I have no idea what?

I don't 'do' jewellery at all so am genuinely cluesless

This is mine. The diamonds and wave go the whole way around.

I wear this ring by Sheila Fleet instead of a traditional wedding ring. It comes in other metals. There are loads of different styles on the Sheila Fleet website of rings you could use as a wedding ring.

If you're on a budget have you seen the prices of the lab grown diamonds these days?

Sooo much cheaper than mined diamonds and exactly the same with their own little flaws etc NOT cubic zirconia. So more bang for your buck.

I couldn't believe the prices. Quarter to half a carat solitaire engagement rings (depending where you buy) from £300-£500.

I couldn't believe my eyes - a carat solitaire for £500. Unbelievable. Colour G-H. Not crap.

I know that's not the style you want but if you look at wedding or eternity style rings they will likely be cheaper too as it's the same product.

I was watching the jewellery channel (tjc.co.uk or ch662 on sky) and a mahoosive 2 carat solitaire was under a grand in their ongoing sale.

Don't know if their prices are the same online or less on tv at that particular time as it's a live offer. Worth investigating.

My wedding ring is a 1carat tw princess cut band like the picture. I absolutely love it and love the way it looks with or without my engagement ring. It's very comfortable and I've continued to be happy with it for 27+ years

Gorgeous!

It has to be bling 😂

I love these rings too!

Personally, I would choose a ring that is very comfortable to wear and one that has a classic style that will wear well in any year and at any age.

I've got three rings intertwined in white, rose and yellow gold and the white gold has diamonds running through it. It does twist round quite a lot but it's a bit different. DH bought it when my original engagement ring (solitaire) was damaged and the shaped wedding band I had underneath looked stupid worn alone.

All these very textured rings are giving me the heebie jeebies - so much grot would need to be scrubbed out constantly. If i was wearing something every day, I'd want a smooth finish.

Polkadottydot · 19/08/2024 21:54

I want so many of these! Love @SoulMole one ! And confetti. And the geometric one. I am such a magpie.

He also does the same style in silver with semi precious stones. I have one in silver with blue topaz stones.

You searched for Eternity - William White

Mine is similar to this. I also don't have an engagement ring and wanted my wedding ring to have a bit of sparkle.

And I like PP's suggestion of Alison Moore, I have one of her gemstone rings that I wear on my right hand.

I have the same type…from Tiffany, though brought abroad many years ago, so less £££ than usual. 20+ years later and I still love it, it properly sparkles in the sun/bright light.

BamberGirl · 19/08/2024 22:34

If you can afford it go for platinum, I have a gorgeous Georg Jensen Centenary ring in white gold on my right hand but I do have to get it decorated every few years, whereas the platinum has never needed any attention.

If you don't 'do' jewellery, are you sure you want a wedding ring at all? You don't have to, I don't.

Her storybook bands are beautiful!

I don't 'do' jewellery either.

If you want vintage I recommend vintagepink.com

I got my engagement ring from there and the service is great.
